This B&B is what you would imagine when dreaming about travelling in Italy. Located right in wine and olive tree country, rollings green hills with far away villas and a superbe view of the town of Orvieto, which is an easy 15 minute drive. Breakfast was delicious, all made from scratch with a lovely selection of cakes and biscotti take on the terrace. Angela was a delight throughout, helping us with excellent advise on local diner spot and where to find the best parking when visiting Orvieto. We just wish we could have stayed longer!

I really enjoyed this holiday. A beautiful place set in acres of vineyards and olive grows with a lovely pool and quaint old stone house. The fam is located fifteen minutes drive from the beautiful town of Orvieto and is well placed for trips outwards. We visited both Rome (1.25 hours train) and Florence (1 hour drive) during our visit. Assisi was also nice. Hosts were very good. It is a little, but this was an attraction for us.

Fattoria Poggio Boalaio Agriturismo

Wonderful hosts, quaint place

We had a rather intense experience, having stayed at the agriturismo during the earthquake on oct 30th. The place is a nice old farming house, with a lit of different animals, including emu and austriches and a great view on orvieto in the distance. The facilities are rustic, clean and simple, almost a bit spartan. But the warm water works. Do take care in winter to check if doors and windows close properly and the heating works, as at least one room seems to have an isolation and heating problem. Breakfast is very spartan and we preferred to have it in orvieto. Otherwise the place is highly enjoyable and the hosts very charming. The rooms include a kitchenett.

Antica Olivaia

Agriturismo Antica Olivaia is a charming 17th century stone farmhouse nestled in a protected nature reserve and located near the ancient hilltop town of Orvieto. This recently restored country inn offers its guests 6 spacious rooms with en suite bathrooms, a buffet breakfast, WI-fi, a private pool & breathtaking views of Orvieto & the Umbrian countryside. Conveniently located between three of Italy's most beautiful regions, it is the ideal place from which to discover the extraordinary Italian countryside and many towns such as Civita di Bagnoregio, Todi, Spello, Assisi, Montefalco, Spoleto, Montepulciano, Montalcino & Pienza. The owners, Marco and Daniela, prepare dinner several times a week for their limited number of guests and meals are eaten together on the veranda under the stars. Informal cooking lessons can also be organized usually in conjunction with dinners. Marco, Daniela and Miles look forward to welcoming you to the Antica Olivaia ... a slow farm for a slow life!

In 2019 we visited Antica Olivaia for the first time and we loved it. The location, the view from the hill on Orvieto, the hospitality, the swimming-pool, the organized diners with other guests, it was all fantastic. We promised to come back. Due to COVID, we couldn’t come earlier than May 2022 and also this second stay at Antica Olivaia was great. The welcome by Daniella & Marco was heart-warming. The region is so pretty and you can visit so many nice places, even the second time. Just ask Daniella, she has the best suggestions for locations to visit but also for the best restaurants. This year she made a reservation for us to visit the winery Madonna Del Latte. Wow, what a great experience. We don’t know when we come back, but it’s sure we will come back.
