We booked a two hour sunset tour for our family and had Enrique as our guide. He was able to spot owls, a sloth and many other birds to show us. He took us through the forest trails and open fields with gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains, had the horses galloping at our request, and finally ended with the sunset where he lined us up on our horses and took pictures of us on our iPhones. It was a great experience that we would definitely recommend if you are looking to ride horses in Monteverde.

This operation is top notch. Their staff, facilities and horses were friendly, clean and cared for. The ranch is directly across the st. from the entrance to the Arenal national park and had fantastic views of both the volcano and the lake. Their horses seem very well cared for and the one I was given was a pleasure to ride. I chose to do this activity on a Sunday morning and arrived right as the place opened at 8. Since I had a car I drove out there and back which was about a 45min drive from La Fortuna. It turned out that I was the only one signed up to ride that morning and had the guide all to myself. What a treat. This was a really special experience and it did not feel like a touristy trail ride. I felt like I was on a ride with a friend who took the time to point out impact craters in the field we road through and talked about the history of the area. The scenery was wonderful: pasture, volcano, lake, jungle, monkeys, cows, other horses. We even stopped at a stream to cool off and give ourselves volcanic clay mud masks before heading back. We did not ride up to the lava fields which was fine with me. My guid spoke english well and was very open and friendly telling me stories of his time in the Costa Rica rodeo circuit. He was a very experienced horse person and we did some galloping in the open fields. I felt well taken care of the whole time. The experience was two hrs and well worth the time and money.

Wonderful guides/staff, beautiful ride and well cared for horses. The staff is amazing! When you go on vacation as much as my wife and I do, you always prepare for something to not go as planned. We couldn’t wait for this ride. The horses are well kept and gentle. The ride was beautiful but my dismount from the horse was less than graceful. Ya’ll, I’m from Texas and grew up on a ranch riding horses and have had my fair share of accidents. I only say this to show that no matter what your experience level is, around horses, accidents can and will happen. I was wearing tennis shoes instead of boots and I have an abnormally wide foot. My right foot got stuck in the stirrup and when I reached down to pull the stirrup off of my shoe, I fell off the horse and dislocated my shoulder. What happened next was nothing short of amazing. One of the guides, Rodrigo, immediately moved the horses away from me, and would not let anyone move me until I was checked out. They contacted a private clinic and set up an emergency appointment and then one of the staff members, Jorge, drove my wife and I to the clinic and the doctor was waiting for me upon arrival. Jorge waited with my wife while I received expert care from the attending doctor. Once I was released, Jorge, a staff member from Vista Los Suenos horseback riding took us back to our house. The whole time, from the time we arrived, during my trip to the doctor, and the trip home they took great care of us! They treated us like family! Rodrigo, Jorge, THANK YOU! if you ever come to the states we only hope you will allow us to return the favor to you both.

Our horses are totally trained, we take care daily and the rotated the work are the trails using in rides. We are specialized in groups with or not experience small or bigger and all ages. Don´t think too much and ride as a cowboy with ours cowboys.
