South Lake/Nanhu 南湖 is a lovely lake, with touches of classic beauty. Rich pagodas and an ornamental bridge, trees, flowers.
It's also popular in the morning for people to gather and do exercises, make music and so on. I enjoyed a stroll there
Very scenic and relaxing.

Although we were unlucky with a weather, location was very worth visiting. Well maintained walking path, following two river sides offers insight in many caves with different Buddha status and carvings. Make sure you reserve around 4hrs for this visit, as it's very crowded.

蒙自，也许我们只知道这里有米线，蒙自的米线。其实，蒙自也是一个与世无争的地方。如果你讨厌了城市的喧嚣后，你可以来这里。悠闲的生活，绿绿的草地，公园，能把你心中那份焦虑的心平静下来。战乱时期，转移到西南的文人政客，就有不少都来过蒙自，最著名的，是朱自清吧。后来，他写了《蒙自杂记》。

南湖是过桥米线发源地，传说有个书生在南湖瀛洲亭读书，贤惠的妻子每天给送饭来，这日妻子杀了个老母鸡炖汤，舍不得自己吃给书生送来，在桥边饿晕了过去，一个时辰后醒来，发现鸡汤还是热的，于是便把鸡汤米线叫做过桥米线云云！滇南地区风景这边也不错南湖公园已经不收门票，闲来逛逛也非常不错，地处蒙自市中心位置，边上有官房大酒店，州医院，一边是以前的初中，蛮怀念的！
