Friendly staff and nice runs. As an experienced skier you will probably quickly be a bit bored, but the area is really close to Ottawa.

Lusk Cave

We parked in the parking lot at Parent Beach. Entry to the park was $12 per car (payable upon exiting). We found it very tricky to locate the trail that is used for biking to the caves and found ourselves on the wrong path. The path that we started on from the beach area is a narrow rocky path more suited to mountain biking. We finally got directions from some of the campers to get to the road with the “50” marker sign. We suggest that you look for the sign at the Parent parking lot that points you towards “Lusk Cave Trail”. (This is at the opposite end of the parking lot from the entry path to the beach). Follow that path and take the first right turn. This short trail exits at the road that runs within the park and through the campgrounds. Turn left and follow this road (marked “50”) all the way (shared with cars) until you hit a gravel path (also marked “50”). Go to the end of the trail to where it intersects with the trail number 54 (at a beautiful beach). It is probably a 30 minute bike ride and keep in mind that it is a little hilly. We locked up our bikes on a tree, as the bike rack provided was full. We then followed the markings for trail number 54 which takes you to the caves. It’s about a 1 km walk. We left our knapsack at the base of the entry to the climb to the caves. We took our valuables with us in secure waterproof bags. The walk through the caves takes about 15 minutes. You can exit halfway through. The first half is easier than the second half. The second half of the cave had water levels up to our neck with only a head space between the water and the top of the cave. We did use flashlights to illuminate the way. The kids wore life jackets which made them feel more secure. The second part of the cave has one high rock that you have to get down. Having said that, this was very doable with 8 year old children, with some assistance from the adults. It was about a 3 to 3 1/2 hour trip from start to finish including the biking, hiking and the caves. Some of our group went through the caves twice. The caves were a ton of fun and a very wonderful and unique adventure in a very beautiful park.

I've been here in every season, but I think winter is my favourite! It's the largest spa in North America, situated near the quaint village of Old Chelsea, Quebec (Canada). You can speak English, French or enjoy not speaking much at all as some sections are silent and some a low whisper. There's also a panoramic pool where everyone can be social. With 10 pools (hot & cold), 9 saunas (hot, steam, dry, eucalyptus, etc), indoor floating salt water pool, massages, yurts with wood fires, large hammocks to completely envelope yourself, wonderful restaurants, waterfalls, natural rocks & trees.. all surrounded by the ancient Gatineau Hills.. it's truly a heavenly experience!! So during the long Canadian winter when we all crave more sunshine, add this to your list of activities and.. go!! You'll thank me and I guarantee you'll love it.
