Duoyishu

We had to wake early in the morning and leave at dark to reach this place and didn't regret at all to catch breathtaking sunrise scenery of the first light reflecting on paddy field water with the background of thick mist.

Zhu's Family Garden (Zhu Jia Huayuan)

I found espresso in the most unlikely spot. The barista here speak a little English and make THE best shots in Yunnan. I highly recommend it to any caffeine deprived traveller.

Yuanyang Rice Terraces

Reviewed By RestlessMi - Melbourne, Australia

Although getting there was a long process, this is definitely one of those “once in a lifetime” experiences. No photos do this place justice, and it’s just mind boggling how all these terraces were built thousands of years ago with only primitive tools. Due to the place being a bit out of the way, tourist numbers were still manageable. So unlike many of our other experiences in China. The locals are also very friendly, and whilst there are some tourist trinket stalls, you don’t feel pressured into buying anything. Would also highly recommend a visit to the Shengcun market. First “real” market I’ve been to in China that is both interesting AND non-touristy. But you’ll have to check with the locals what days the market runs. The local tribes use a different calendar system.
