The 5 Best Things to do Good for Big Groups in Cirali, Turkish Mediterranean Coast

March 6, 2022 Jeremy Dunfee

The biggest attraction here are the flames coming out of vents in the mountainside. According to legend, the monster Chimera, which had three fire-spewing heads, was chased by the Lycian hero Bellerophon on his winged horse Pegasus. He killed the monster, but the fire-spewing heads fell on the mountain where they still burn.

It’s very easy to reach from Cirali. We went during sunset. Bring Moskito Spray. Ancient Gods and creatures used to hang out there. It’s fascinating to see this place. Entry fee was 9 TL

Mt. Olympos (Tahtali Dag)

Our group aged 25-50 started the hike from the Beycik village (we got there by a taxi). The elevation of the Tahtali mountain is 2365 m. The altitude range between the top and the Beycik is about 1300 m, and the hiking distance is about 8 km long. We have reached the top for 5 hours. The landscapes are amazing. During the hiking we saw many Lebanon cedars: the trees known by their historical and cultural importance in countries of Middle East. The return trip was by a cable car. I recommend the trip for all who like the moderate mountain hiking.

Cirali Beach

The water is clean and warm, with fish swimming right up to the shore. Mixture of stones and sand, and it gets deep pretty fast. Water is calm - like glass in the mornings, with few waves until the wind whips up after sundown. Had loads of fun playing with our small children.
