The 5 Best Things to do Good for a Rainy Day in Buffalo, Wyoming (WY)

March 22, 2022 Toi Mattera

Sitting along the Cloud Peak Scenic Byway in the foothills of the Bighorn Mountains, Buffalo is conveniently located between Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park. The town itself is rich in frontier history, allowing visitors to step back in time to the days of cowboys and sheriffs. Have a glass of authentic sassafras in the saloon of the Occidental Hotel, right on Main Street, or head south of town and search out the Hole-in-the-Wall hangout of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

This is a very nice museum from a well-known family in this area. There is quite a collection of artifacts and history of the families and things that went on in this area going way back into the 1800s. His family‘s original cabin is on the property that you can look into.
