The Antofagasta Region (Spanish: Región de Antofagasta, pronounced [antofaˈɣasta]) is one of Chile's fifteen first-order administrative divisions. It comprises three provinces, Antofagasta, El Loa and Tocopilla. It is bordered to the north by Tarapacá and by Atacama to the south and is the second-largest region of Chile. To the east it borders Bolivia and Argentina. The capital of the region is the port city of Antofagasta, another important city being Calama. The main economic activity is copper mining in the giant porphyry copper systems located inland.

Quebrada del Diablo

The path to this place was flat and easy. The difficult part is trying to cross the river without getting wet! you will cross about 3 rivers and the last river is the biggest one. Right after the biggest river, pay attention to your surroundings as i overshot the sign to this place. Upon entering this place, you'll be amazed with the canyons! Do cycle alllll the way to the end until you reach some sandy area (or sand dunes if that's what you call it). There's a small hill that you can climb (without the bike) and at the top, you'll be greeted by the view of the snowy mountains at a distance! Awesome view!

We had an absolutely amazing time and couldn't recommend this tour enough. The first two days are incredible driving through spectacular landscapes and seeing all sorts of different wildlife and scenery of which we have never seen before. White and Green are a very good company and have everything covered. Given that you are in the desert the accomodation was excellent and way over our expectations as was the food (which there was plenty of!) Our guide Milton made the experience for us, he was kind, generous and good humoured as well as being a safe driver. He spoke very good English which was a bonus for us having very little Spanish. He was very informative about each place we visited and answered any questions we had with good detail and knowledge. His jeep was in very good condition and was spotlessly clean. Thank you so much Milton. THE BEST DRIVER IN BOLIVIA.

An interesting place in the Atacama Desert. Here you have the feeling that the Atacama Desert looks at you through these eyes. Even a little uncomfortable.
