Grand Exterior
Reviewed By ngsuanengOur group of 8 stayed in this hotel after visiting the Wumao Earth Forest Scenic Area. It's supposed to be the best hotel in this small town. The Exterior and Lobby look grand but room standards differ. Some of us who stayed in twin bedded rooms had no problem but a couple who wanted only double bedroom had a poor experience as the shower room was flooded each time they took showers as there was a design/construction fault with the shower room. The hotel was willing to change their room. Do not expect Western standards with regard to English language speaking staff or western breakfast as it is not a 5 star international hotel. It caters to local business guests and tour groups. Otherwise it is fairly decent.

Reviewed By 江裕良我们一团20人在130514入住，140514离开，早餐没什么吃就算了，又全部冷冰冰的。更难接受的是还没交回房卡之前，查房员二度进入房间，第一次是在没人之下擅自开门进入房间（有迹象东西被移动过），第二次我还在房里就进来，对我的指责毫无反应，想问酒店诚信有问题还是管理层有问题？我们一团20人和导游领队都受此遭遇请问这是怎么一回事？入住贵酒店是否有隐私和安全？ 浴室没门，洗澡水溅到整间浴室都湿了，要求踏脚布都被拒绝，这是什么服务态度？

Reviewed By 深圳小颖子和家人从双廊自驾回昆明，不想路上太累，晚上就选择了楚雄作为落脚地，这家酒店紧挨着楚雄的彝人街，无论吃饭还是游玩都非常方便。按照导航酒店还是很好找的。这家客栈不像那种传统酒店，这里是一个闹中取静非常有特色的院落。走进院子，豁然开朗，整个客栈很有点四合院的感觉，店如其名“豁了院子”。 酒店大堂门口就是他家的咖啡馆，白天坐在这里喝喝咖啡晒晒太阳也很是惬意。这家客栈共有两层楼，楼上楼下加起来也就十来间客房吧，晚上坐在院子里抬头就能看到天上的星星，一家人住进去很有回家的感觉。我们到那晚下雨了，所以院子里的座椅都拿雨布盖起来了，不然在这样的环境里，品茗赏月，何等惬意。 酒店风格古香古色，雕梁画柱，每一个细节都能感受到主人的用心，客房设计既有民族特色的原生态，又不失艺术细节，总之一家老小都赞不绝口，入住体验很好。 酒店出来步行一百米就是彝人街，街上有餐厅，酒吧，小桥流水人家，白天还能乘坐小船游玩。到了晚上一整条步行还有各种烧烤大排档、各式当地小吃、特色礼物售卖，非常热闹，很有点逛庙会的感觉。彝人街这里还可以乘坐很有特色的南瓜马车游玩，坐在高头大马拉着的马车上，无论大人还是孩子都非常兴奋开心。另外彝人街晚上中央广场有彝人歌舞表演，可以购票进去参与到他们的队伍中去，尤其是最后的彝人火把表演和演员们一起载歌载舞特别热闹，无论老人还是孩子都特别喜欢。 总之如果你来楚雄，非常推荐大家试试这家非常有艺术感的客栈。

Just awesome - hidden gem off the beaten path
Reviewed By Alessandro NMy wife and I stayed in this hotel after a long train journey on our way to Dali, Yunnan. Couldn't find any review in English about any hotel in Chuxiong and this one looked OK so we tried our luck. We were pleasantly surprised by pretty much everything. This hotel belongs to a company that produces walnut drinks. Everything is about walnuts. You are offered a can of this delicious walnut drink when you check in, the furniture is made of walnut tree wood and there are walnut-themed sculptures everywhere. The room was super clean, large, had two double beds, air con, large TV and large bathroom. Breakfast was great too. Over a month travelling across China, this was by far the best hotel we stayed in and also the cheapest. It's a shame that we only booked for a night and had to take a train to Dali next day. The only thing travellers should be aware of is that the staff don't speak any English and it took us a while to get the paperwork (passport registration etc.) done.

AC TURNS OFF AT NIGHT
Reviewed By Andrew KWe stayed in this hotel during our trip back from Dali to split up our drive. Looked very nice from the outside and the inside was very well decorated as well. Rooms looked great, and we got two standard twin bed rooms for 548 yuan each. Great showers and comfy beds, but my wife, in-laws and I all woke up around 2 AM sweating like crazy. AC was blowing but no cold air. Had them come take a look and they said every night they turn off the AC starting at 1. What the heck. If we had known that, we would have never stayed there. Who shuts their AC off like that? Never stayed at a hotel like that, but they acted like it was normal. I don’t care how nice the room or bed is, if I can’t sleep at night due to no AC, then everything else is meaningless. Would have been much better to stay at a 100 yuan hotel and have constant AC. Complained in the morning, and all they gave me was 100 yuan refund. Really disappointing.
