I booked a private tour with Local Travel Partners back in May for our upcoming November visit. I had the pleasure to communicate with Hirokane throughout the porcess. The four of us had an English speaking driver and his car. Although, he was quiet, neverthless he was quite knowledgeable. As promised, both the driver and Hirokane met us at the port (we were a tad early) and away we went. On the way to see Lake Ashi and the waterfalls, the skies were just starting to clear. At the first viewing point for Mt. Fuji, it was cloudy and we can only make out the top of the mt. As the day progressed, Mt. Fuji was kind to us and revealed herself fully, to the clicking of cameras! It was great that we were able to view this spectucular sight from multiple vantage points that were not overrunned by tourists. He took us to the right places. Japan tour comanies are hard to find, and this one is the one to go with

Shizuoka is a city where the first SHOGUN Ieyasu was buried on top of KUNO mountain. His mouseleum is still placed there silently. Once in a year, on April 7th, an annual ritual is held for him at TOSHOGU shrine. To the shrine, rope way (sky way gondla lift) runs every 6 minutes, so it takes only 10 minutes to meet the holy mauseleum. After meeting him, you can visit the TOSHOGU museum located just in front of the shrine, where you can see the 'golden clock sent by Spanish King to IEYASU' which is one of the national treasures of Japan. The important swords or armours are also shown there. On coming back to NIHONDAIRA by ropeway, you should visit 'YUME terrace' where you can see the panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and the MIHO Pine groves on the Pacific Ocean. The landscape there is magnificent!

Inclusions: English speaking professional guide, Private tour, Hotel pick up and drop off

Exclusions: Lunch, Public transpotation fare:bus 1160 yen taxi:8,860 yen from SHIMIZU port :15,000 yen (for 3 hours )

Yoshi was a great tour guide. He tells a lot of stories and takes you to your desired places and then some. We went to the National Gardens, stopped to say hi to Hachiko, and went to the Chiku Chiku Cafe. The Hedgehogs were so cute! They're usually nocturnal and the one I was visiting, Butter, was really tired and wanted to sleep so I only took a couple pictures and let him rest the rest of the time :) Take care Yoshi! Hope you have more fun adventures

The flexibility to chose locations that suited our wants and abilities was great. Hiro San was very quick to put together an itinerary that accommodated a family with a stroller-baby (no monkey park due to long unpacked walking paths). Taking in the beautiful temples and view of the Kyoto from the west was breath taking and the guide was able to explain many things we as new Japanese learners could not read or know through cultural knowledge. Overall a great experience, a wonderful and lively guide, and some great memories.
