Acorn Theater

AT last I have found the greatest little venue. It has it all from early rock to present day artists. Original artists are a plus. I like Miles Nielsen (son of Rick Nielsen) and his band the Rusted Hearts. You are always within easy listening distance as it is a small venue. Very personable and a "not so far away" travel from anywhere in the southeast tip of lake Michigan area including Chicago and South Bend,IN. I love this place.. Most seating is within 40 feet of the stage.. YOU ARE IN THE EXPERIENCE..

We just enjoyed a great show featuring The Manhattan Transfer and the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. It's a great venue. The seat and leg room are spacious, the acoustics are good, the staff personable and helpful. Parking is easy and close. We had a very enjoyable evening.

Silver Creek Event Center

This venue us what you make of it. I have been here for at least 6 concerts now if not more. I actually prefer this venue compared to Firekeepers or other local casinos, which while may be bigger, also have their share of problems. This is a much more intimate venue for concerts IMHO. It is not as big as some other casino venues, but that is good and bad depending on what you want from your concert experience. For us, this Sara Evans concert was very nicely done, and perfect intimate setting for her music. We really enjoyed the concert and were impressed all things considered. The only take away for us was the sound system seemed to be off. I am not sure who they have running the board, but the background was drowning out her voice at times as if to cover up a raspy voice. I will have to pay more attention in the future to see if this is something for specific artists or just the venue on the whole.
