The 5 best Campgrounds in San Antonio de Areco, Argentina

May 14, 2023 Darleen Reid

A compact small town nearly 70 miles northwest of Buenos Aires, San Antonio de Areco is in the heart of the Argentine Pampas region. It’s a great 1½-hour day trip by car or bus from Buenos Aires—or the perfect jumping-off point for those who choose to visit at a nearby estancia, or a traditional large rural ranch and estate. Major attractions here include the colonial sights of San Antonio de Areco itself, the Museum of the Gaucho (which celebrates Argentine cowboys), and a variety of estancias themselves, which are located within two hours of San Antonio de Areco. If you don’t feel like planning your own itinerary, several tour and travel companies will coordinate your visit and arrange your estancia stay.

Cabanas El Jacaranda

Wonderful cabin for a great price!

Reviewed By SA2BA

We stayed at El Jacaranda cabins for 2 nights. As we were 2 couples with a one year old baby we rented the 2 bedroom cabin and it was great! The only con was that it was a little bit cold in the living room but otherwise everything was great. Clean and modern. Lots of hot water. Beds were comfortable and we even got a crib for our child.

Buenas instalaciones

Reviewed By Cecvf

Got here by accident, but had a fabulous time

Reviewed By Marius H

Our intention was to book an accomodation in San Antonio de Arcero, however ended up in this wonderfull place, about 18 km from our intended destination. We did not regret our initial mistake, and love every minute of our stay here. Super friendly people, beautifull environment and a "home" cooked grill made it an unforgettable experience.
