Maji Moto Maasai Cultural Camp

Amazing trip, amazing experience!

Reviewed By stelladsb

To have been allowed to enter into the Maasai culture was such a special feeling and the hospitality of the Maji Moto camp made the experience all the better. Me (17) and my dad (53) never once felt like intruders, instead, we were treated like family friends. The staff was so kind and genuine, and the food was deliciously traditional. We stayed in a mud hut for 4 nights, which was a perfect duration, as we managed to take part in all activities, from warrior training to going to the village market, being taught to make bracelets by the children and to hiking up the mountain with a warrior guarding us and teaching us about the ways of the Maasai. We also took part in the extra activities which were both extraordinary experiences. Thank you to our amazing driver and guide/chief for the amazing Safari in the Maasai Mara. We saw so many animals and the scenery was incredible. The Olpul bush camping was also a fantastic experience. The slaughtering of the goat, the singing and dancing around the fire, the blessings given by the chief and of course the falling asleep on a mattress of sage, hearing the hyenas howl in the distance, was the highlight of my trip. I would recommend this to anyone who visits the camp. Overall we had a great time, and I am very grateful for the memories and experiences I made. I think my dad will also remember the camp and his best warrior friend Quila for a very long time! Thank you Suzanne and Salaton for the amazing camp you have established and for protecting the land and community, it was a pleasure to have met you!

Wow!!! Magical, amazing, experience!

We stayed at magical Naserian camp for two nights. Four amazing game drives. We had our two kids ages 16 and 18 yo with us. From the moment that we pulled into the camp we felt at home. Shadrack the manager and his staff greeted us warmly and showed us around the beautiful camp. Our tents were truly wonderful! Comfortable, clean and the grounds were beautiful! The food is exceptional! They easily accommodated our vegetarian diet. The game drives on the Mara were spectacular! We saw all the animals we were hoping to see, John our driver knew exactly where to go, he has grown up on this land! Our favorite was “breakfast in the bush” they packed us a scrumptious breakfast and we ate it sitting in the safari vehicle surrounded by a Family of grazing elephants. Best ever!!!!! We also learned about the masaai culture from John and Moses, to include throwing spears and shooting a masaai bow! The camp was very serene and Shadrack and his staff were exceptional in their attention to detail and their service. Thank you for an unforgettable experience. We hope to be back!!!
