I booked this tour easily via email a few days earlier (whilst I was still in Australia) and the amount of information provided was excellent. The tour itself was fantastic. Anne presented in English and was both informative and entertaining. Other than being an enthusiastic consumer I haven’t had a huge amount of interest in how cheese is made but this was a great experience and definitely one to do when you are in this area. A real bonus is it is free and there was no pressure to buy.

Rinaldini AZ. Agr. Moro

Halfway between Reggio Emilia and Parma, at the feet of the hills of Matilda of Canossa, you can find our winery. Established at the end of the Sixties, the cellar was made out of an ancient farmhouse dated 1884. The building is situated in the middle of our 15 hectares high-density vineyard (about 4.000 vines per hectare). Its yield is low, as it's cultivated using the spurred cordon technique, therefore completely environmentally friendly. Our history began with my father Rinaldo Rinaldini, owner of a renowned restaurant where wines and cold cuts were strictly handmade and you could enjoy our most traditional local specialties. This love for our lore, together with the admiration and knowledge of "methode Champenoise", led our family to become wine growers. Thanks to our perseverance, skill and curiosity we managed to preserve ancient endangered vines , so in few years we proved that even from mistreated and almost forgotten vines it's possible to work wonders. We are still a small, family-run business, though it has been enlarged over the years, employing the most advanced equipment and technology, in order to maintain the highest quality level without neglecting our traditions and the lessons of experience. The winery is equipped with an underground cellar, a real "cave" for champagne, used for ageing Spumante bottles then for their still manually "remuage", and for the storage "en barrique" of the most valuable wines. Inside the former stable, we built up a small oenological museum, a wine tasting counter and a shop with our products.
