Continental Greece (Greek: Στερεά Ελλάδα, Stereá Elláda; formerly Χέρσος Ἑλλάς, Chérsos Ellás), colloquially known as Roúmeli (Ρούμελη), is a traditional geographic region of Greece. In English the area is usually called Central Greece, but the equivalent Greek term (Κεντρική Ελλάδα, Kentrikí Elláda) is more rarely used.

Rachel showed us some great places that would have been impossible to find by ourselves. I recommend to take the tour at the beginning of your stay in Athens, because otherwise you will regret all the hidden gems you missed out. We went with our 2 1/2 year old daughter in the stroller and it was really no problem at all. Rachel adapted the tour to our needs whenever required and really helped us a lot. It was an amazing experience for us all!

Anna was an amazing host taking us to some of the oldest food business in Athens as well as some hidden delights that you would blink and miss it. We enjoyed a superb private tour “Paradisial Peloponnese” with Pictours of Greece. George, our tour leader, delivered a magical week with great food and diverse experiences from wine tasting to cave exploration as well as the many historical sites. Never have we been so pampered! Babis, our guide with amazing knowledge and panache, brought Greek history to life and was simply enthralling as we explored the Parthenon, Nemea, Monevasia, Olympia, Mycenae, Sparta, Ancient Corinth and so much more. We had great difficulty selecting the best moment from the many experiences but concluded that hearing Babis tell the story of Agamemnon and Helen at the top of Mycenae was our fondest memory. We were somewhat wary of a tour with a historic and cultural focus but our concern quickly disappeared as we entered the tunnel at Nemea and lined up at the race start as athletes would have done thousands of years ago. Every day brought a new adventure and enchanting stories. The attention to detail and the genuine caring throughout the week made the trip effortless and smooth. Greece in winter without the crowds was simply incredible - the stunning sites, diverse experiences, the beautiful landscape, the warm welcomes, and the delicious food. Highly recommended!

My guide Vasile met me at the Acropolis metro stop, we headed to the Acropolis, and I was the only person that had signed up for a tour that day so it was a solo tour. We stopped at the Acropolis, Temple of Hephaestus, Greek Agora, Lycabettus Hill, the glass running man, and the Olympic Stadium in my half day tour. 100% worth it, got some great photos and better memories, and would happily suggest them again.

Our Airbnb host suggested we could use Cat Taxis to transfer from the airport to the apartment. Terry was very helpful when I phoned to book and, on our arrival and transfer, gave so much information, hints and tips to help us make the most of our stay in Athens. We would not have received so much advice and information had we just booked a standard transfer with a holiday company. We were so impressed and grateful that we decided to use them again for our transfer back at the end of our holiday.
