We were staying in a vacation rental north of Lyon while attending the Women’s World Cup and had initially wanted to take a Beaujolais Wine Tour on one of the off-days. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find a tour or private tour guide that wasn’t already booked. As a result, we moved further North and started looking at Burgundy wine tours. Luckily by-chance, we booked The Wines of Burgundy Day Tour with Pieter Smits. We had a wonderful tour with Pieter as we visited several villages, chateaus, and wineries. Not only were we able to sample some fine wines but Pieter also selected a restaurant where we had a great lunch. Pieter is very engaging and knowledgeable which helped make the tour very enjoyable. It's an experience I will always remember.

Great trip! A good balance between wine tasting, sightseeing trough the vineyards and beautiful villages. Our guide was well known with the region, wine production and the taste of wine. Also nice that we only visited organic / bio winemakers. This tour is highly recommended if you prefer small scale wineries and love an intimate tour around the Alsace area.

In this small-group full day tour, you will visit traditional Christmas markets in Colmar and in other Alsace villages. Strasbourg hosted in 1570 the very first edition of one of the oldest Christmas markets in Europe and has continued, since then, the tradition of Alsatian Christmas. However, Colmar and other Alsatian villages have also developed their own warm and generous Christmas Markets tradition, with their little wooden huts, Christmas lights and festivities. Experience the true Christmas spirit and open all your senses to delicious fragrances, delightful craft goods and lights along your way. Those markets will amaze you with their surprising and mouthwatering discoveries.

Inclusions: Visit of Christmas markets, English-speaking driver and guide, Travel in late-model, comfortable, fully-equipped minivans, Free wifi access on board

Exclusions: Personal insurance and expenses, Meals & drinks, Gratuities, Entrance fees to monuments, museums, attractions unless mentioned, Hotel pickup and drop-off

Our initial tour was planned in May, for our Honeymoon, unfortunately this was cancelled due to corona virus. We rescheduled our trip to March 2021. We contacted Ophorus to re-arrange. Michelle was completely understanding and moved our booking, without any extra fees or hassle. She responded extremely quickly, for which we was most grateful. Unfortunately, our honeymoon was cancelled on us for a second time, so we reached out to Michelle again to ask for a refund. Once again, we received a very quick reply, which was great. I work for a small business so understand the importance of cash for small businesses, but once again there was no hassle, and our refund has been processed. I cannot be thankful enough. When the travel restrictions ease, we will certainly be re-booking with Ophorus, there customer service has been excellent. There has been no language barrier issues, the English has been excellent. I wish everyone who reads this review to book with Ophorus. Going by my experience so far they will not be disappointed. Many thanks to Ophorus from us during these difficult times. I wish you well.

In Tellure, travel to the heart of the earth and relive the extraordinary adventure of the Val d'Argent miners! One hour of guided tour in the galleries of the silver mine from the 16th to the 20th century + one hour of audio tour of the museum space Supervised by a qualified guide, visitors follow a circuit of galleries illustrating the different eras, from the 16th to the 20th century, in the heart of the mountains, over more than 800 meters. Without particular difficulty, this initiatory exploration to the discovery of the underground worlds is addressed as much to the children as to the adults and lifts the veil on what was the life of the miners and its evolution.

The visit of the mine is very nice. There is a small museum about the history of silver mining in the area that you can visit with an audio tour. The tour through the mine itself is in French because most of the visitors are. However, our guide spoke quite good English so informed us (family of three) too. It is wise to ask it up front, because not all guides speak English well enough. The ride to the mine is very long but can be worth it.

Thomas was a great guide, well informed and easy to understand. He even brought his mother to meet us since he thought we spoke German ( we live in Germany but are basically English speakers) and she was a wealth of information about the Cathedral and Strasbourg in general. We learned a lot in a very short time, and were pleased with the experience. Highly recommend!
