Beautiful location
Reviewed By VidosmumVilla della Porta is located a bit up on the mountain side, resulting in it being in the shade in the morning and early afternoon. It seems to be primarily a venue for weddings, birthday parties etc. and less geared towards individual guests as seen in the limited range of the dishes offered for dinner, the absence of a proper lounge, wi-fi only being accessible in public spaces (and often not even that). That being said, then staff go out of their way to serve you and meet your wishes, the rooms are rustic and beautifully appointed, and the building itself hails back to the 16th century with stone corridors, court yards, balconies, a huge garden, and a big swimming pool.

Basic, damp and depressing
Reviewed By toesblanketwe stayed here for 6 nights. The minute i arrived i should have asked for another room as the smell of dampness alone going down to the roomshould have been enough to know that the room wasn't going to be good The accommodation is dated and our apartment was downstairs, therefore no access to outdoor space. During the 6 days our sheets or towels were not changed once. All in all it just felt grubby and a little depressing. Location was good with a very short walk into town and the pool was fine. the wifi didnt work in the room, not sure if this was because it was downstairs.

Wonderful B & B, stunning view, super helpful host!
Reviewed By lavernrhMario went above and beyond to welcome us to B & B Villa Caruso when another previously reserved rental didn't work out. He was super helpful and accommodated us wonderfully at short notice. The rooms in our upstairs suite were perfectly clean, pleasant and welcoming. And the view!!! Truly jaw-dropping panoramic vista over the sea. We had a balcony in our bedroom. We loved our stay here and would love to return sometime. It exceeded our expectations. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was beautiful and larger than we expected. The breakfast was basic, but there was good variety, and the coffee was good! Mario was eager to do anything to make our stay better. He often asked if we wanted any information about local restaurants or attractions and offered a lot of helpful information. He speaks some English, and uses his phone to translate what he doesn't know, so communication is no problem! If you're considering B & B Villa Caruso--just go ahead and make your reservation! You'll have a wonderful, memorable stay.

As it was out of season we were only able to have breakfast there but the hotel is fantastically located in the town to dine out. Staff friendly and helpful Cannot fault it (ignore any previous negative comments as this place is gem)

Villa Silvana is an elegant boutique hotel surrounded by luxurious and exotic gardens in the heart of Sorrento. The villa has a spectacular view of the Gulf of Naples and is the ideal choice for an exclusive and relaxing holiday. The rooms and suites of Villa Silvana have been recently renovated and are grand, modern and superbly furnished with exquisite Mediterranean décor and sumptuous marble fittings. The accommodation has a gorgeous view of the beautifully manicured gardens and the magnificent Gulf of Naples. The rooms offer numerous comforts including; wifi, air conditioning, a safe, a TV, a minibar and a courtesy kit and is cleaned daily. A delicious ‘a la carte’ breakfast is served on fine linen on the main terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples and has a clear view of the Vesuvio. Villa Silvana is also located directly across the street from a public underground multi-level garage, making it very convenient if you are traveling with a car.

It fits majestic panoramic views of Sorrento and gorgeous modern furnishings into a six-room villa that’s small enough to let you pretend that you’re the only people there. It’s also perfectly located, just a five-minute walk from the train station, Piazza Tasso, and all number of shops and restaurants. The wonderful Giulia welcomed us warmly when we arrived and was always on hand to offer help or answer our questions. We booked the king suite for one of our nights, and we’re so glad we did. Having the entire upper floor to ourselves, with two private terraces, was an unparalleled delight. We may plan another trip to Sorrento just to stay here again.

Do not trust the management of this place
Reviewed By wwwdesign522We were supposed to get a van for four passengers and luggage. An hour later a small beat up car barely able to fit four people picked us up. Missing bumper, had to stack the luggage next to us and three of us in the front seat. Driver had to stop and get gas, couldnt speak English and got lost several times. We still had to pay the 130 euro even though originally we had an option to pay 100 Euro for a car. I opted for the van since we knew it would be larger. We paid in full for a 3 bedroom apartment with a washing machine. He showed us to two rooms. No living room like in the photos, no washing machine. I explained that we paid for 3 bedrooms and he just told us that he rented it to someone else. What?? I asked for a refund for the difference and he said we got a good deal and kept pointing to the 5 star Excelsior next door. Then he said he could easily rent it out to someone else. At that point, we had no choice but to grin and bear it... Then when our wonderful driver (Sorrento Tours) called the owner the evening before our departure, the ownee emailed me and said he could take us to the airport for 130 Euro and that we owed a city sales tax that we were not aware of. How could he even think we would book transportation with him??? Sorrento Tours picked us up in a nice Van with a driver in a nice suit, spoke English, had water for us, plenty of room for 120 Euro Oh! The owner was sure to meet us to get our 15 Euro pp upon our departure. Do not trust the owner/management.

Small Boutique Hotel ideally located with amazing chef
Reviewed By Lisa CLocation was great. 10 minutes walk to the train station but far enough out of the hustle of Sorrento. Lovely breakfasts with freshly baked breads and beautiful omelettes. Outstanding chef. Try their tasting menu! Very nice, family owned boutique hotel. With only 7 bedrooms it felt like a private villa.
