Great welcome, great food, lovely owners
Reviewed By Una NWe only stayed for one night at Villa Ambra while on a recent bike tour in the south of Sicily but we really enjoyed our stay. Ambra and her father were both very friendly and helpful, there was plenty of space for our mountain bikes out the back, the room was clean and comfortable and the food was really delicious. Unfortunately we couldn't take any of the delicious carob syrup they make with us.....but we'll be back another time for that! Grazie mille per l'ospitalità!

The villa dominates the site where Cicerone located the tomb of the legendary mathematician Archimedes of Syracuse. It is located 300 mt far from the Archeological Neapolis Park which includes the Greek Teather, the Roman Amphitheater and the Dionysius Ear, in the heart of Grotticelle Necropolis area, traced back to fifth century BC. The Dimora Archimedea was built in the second half of 1800, and it shows different styles due to the owners who followed until today. The actual owner preserved what he found about 15 years ago, restoring every single architectural detail, including the large garden where you will feel the atmosphere of Magna Grecia.

The location of the hotel is brilliant - right next to the main ruins of Syracuse, and there are even some caves in the hotel garden!

Excellent and Welcoming
Reviewed By GerryMotherwellAn excellent small and very personal B&B. Centrally located for all Ortigia and then across the bridges to Syracuse. Only three rooms- two of which sleep about four. The rooms are beautiful and so clean. Each has its own layout - one with access to a terrace. Breakfast is marvellous and includes homemade cake which is all served to you by the couple who own the B&B. The owners could not be more welcoming nor more helpful. The B&B is in a small square reached by one of the many narrow lanes of Ortigia. The fact that nearby buildings are in disrepair in no way affects the beauty and charm of this B&B.

Private parking and area very quiet, 10 minute walk into Noto centre. Highly recommend and thank you Elvira for your wonderful hospitality!!

Una villa per noi a metà.
Reviewed By maurab542Prenotiamo la villa per 12 persone… le foto sono molto invitanti: la casa è bella, con piscina e giardino. Sappiamo che i proprietari vivono li ma non ci aspettiamo di trovare quello che troveremo una volta arrivati li, soprattutto considerato il prezzo. La parte della casa che si vede in foto, quella che comprende il porticato vista piscina, è la casa dei proprietari (molto gentili!). Per noi è riservata la parte dietro. Solo due camere al primo piano hanno la visita sulla piscina, le altre affacciano sul retro. Ma questo non sarebbe il problema. Quando abbiamo prenotato ci immaginavamo la tavolata sotto il portico della piscina… il tavolo invece è sul retro, poco curato e anzi, direi trasandato, sporco e poco arieggiato. Gli alloggi al primo piano sono belli; soprattutto quello con il terrazzo é ristrutturato da poco e quindi molto ben tenuto. La “depandance “ invece è terrificante. Sporca, datata e con un bagno indecente per il prezzo che paghiamo (oltre 4.500 euro per la settimana… è vero che siamo ad agosto… però…). A parte questo altra nota dolente sono le “regole della casa”: orari assurdi per l’uso della piscina, controllo da parte dei proprietari sull’uso dei condizionatori (non amiamo sprecare, ma ad agosto 2021 abbiamo toccato i 47 gradi, non si poteva spegnere completamente il condizionatore… ). Unica regola che doveva esserci è quella di non danneggiare nulla e rispettare la convivenza con i proprietari!! Per “villa a vostra intera disposizione” sicuramente intendevamo altro.

Super holiday
Reviewed By samacdonaldMyself and my partner had our first holiday in Sicily. We had a wondrful time, loads to see and do. The hotel is pleasent, clean and tidy. Our room was basic, but comfortable. I was a little disappointed the pictures didn't match reality. There wasn't a mention of the roof terrace and not all facilities seemed to be available. However, the staff are amazing, super helpful and will do everything they can to make your stay wonderful. I will say, it would be helpful if the hours of check in at reception are noted on the website. We were not notified reception was so limited and last check in was at 7pm. Also, the contact details on Loveholidays is incorrect. This needs to be updated. Our stay was reduced to 3 nights as had to pay extra for another hotel due to reception being closed when we arrived. Make sure you get flights which allow for the check in times at the hotel. Other than this, we had a wonderful holiday and are looking to come back next year.

Nice hosts good location bad sleeping
Reviewed By Florian254Location: More or less smack in the center of everything, all attractions in walking distance in a mostly quiet side alley. Disadvantage next parking is 500 m away at 15€/day so schlepping is required. Food: Supermarket 500m away and loads of restaurants around. Room: very nicely furnished with all things inside that you expect from an apartment, clean, enough space. A small nitpick the rainshower was broken. Hosts: We did not meet them but from the beginning to the end very friendly. So why only 3 stars? If the sleep quality is bad then that is the best a review can be. I do not like those TV ready lights in the night, here you have 3 with only one which can be blackened. That is subjective. Objectively is that we had the first room on the lower floor so every moped that starts there has his exhaust actually above your head. Couple this with a bad noise insulation and the fact that you are close to the entrance door that needs enthusiastic closing.. So I recommend the house but I very strongly recommend not to take this room.

Reviewed By lblaceWe had an incredibly relaxing time at this lovely residence. Spotlessly clean rooms, beautiful restful gardens and a wonderful pool. However what makes it outstanding is the care, kindness and dedication of Antonino, his family and his staff in ensuring a perfect stay for his guests. It would be easier to have a car, especially if you intend to visit surrounding areas, and we were aware of this before booking but as we intended our 2 days here to be pure relaxation (which it completely delivered on!) we did not find it a major problem not having a car. This is a very special place that I would return to in a heartbeat. Till the next time, ciao! Shanti & David

Perfect location close to the beach and Siracusa
Reviewed By Storyteller757967We have spent one week at Stella del Mare. Location is perfect, close to the sand beach of fontane Bianche and the city of Siracusa. Few minutes walking from the Beach, restaurants, bars and silent at night. Everything was perfectly clean, new, functioning, enough space for a family with one kid. Parking space great to have. Warm croissant at weekend. Courtesy and availability of staff and Emily! Definitely a great place to stay.
