We let the tour go on without us. We sat in a cafe in the temple grounds, had coffee, and as my friend is Thai, we went to speak with some of the monks. It was a fab day all round

May met us at our hotel which was quite out of the way. She took us to all the significant sites and provided a very good commentary. Her English was excellent. We rode the ferry to the flower market, and a Tuk tuk to the Grand Palace. We were supposed to have a 8 hour tour but because we were jet lagged we cut it short.

This is the high water mark for authentic experiences I have encountered in Asia over the years. This is NOT a cooking class, this is FAR FAR more. The cooking component is maybe 30% of the experience. This is an immersive experience with a real rural family, inside their lovely home compound and gardens, learning about their history and way of life. You have tea, chew betelnut in their pavilions, wander the gardens nibbling on plants and herbs, and yes finally you all cook together outdoors on a clay pot / charcoal system like in the old school. Then you eat together. If you want a commercial, soulless, cookie-cutter cooking class, there are plenty. But this experience is far more comprehensive, soulful, and unforgettable.

The dinner cruise was simply amazing. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. It was one of those nights when I felt so grateful for being in Bangkok. We had two excellent crew members Khun First and Khun View who took care of us, including taking amazing pictures. Highly recommend!

It is so amazing Spectacular really!! many temples to visit while on Bangkok. Larger than you think. There are many wonderful places of the world. But this place is among the most wonderful man-made attraction. The decoration of inside and outside of the palace is delicately hand craft all over the palace. The grand palace and the royal temple (Wat Pra Kaew) in the same place. Golden Buddha has got most precious & massive Golden Buddha made of 5.5 tons of Gold. This holy place is very peaceful and worth watching. Temple of the Reclining Buddha The statue is amazing, beyond my expectations. So big a and beautiful It has a sense of a historical clash as you wander through the town finding it trying to catch up to the modern world and then you find yourself transferred into the past here. Very nice experience and the tour guide was friendly and cheerful. Although the prices of the items they sell at the market are more expensive, but to have an insight into their way of life over there was well worth the experience. The food was disappointment at the seafood market and the people are too!
