Have been here a couple of times. Parking lot is not huge but never have had a problem. There are bathrooms and showers here. Absolutely stunning beach. Long and Sandy. Swimming is good here and we seen whales breaching off shore.

Amazing beach that gets some surf but to too much. Sand is caramel in color with specs of black. Just beautiful. Enclosed on the sides with black lava rock that fingers into the water to create relative calm beach and great snorkeling on the sides. The bad is that its very very crowded at peak times - like Easter when we are here. Its jammed.

Wailea Beach Path

This path is so unusual for a resort like Wailea. It makes all the hotel areas accessible and all the beaches are accessible.
We can walk for an hour each way from our hotel, Wailea Beach Resort. You walk sometimes on a path and sometimes on the sand. There are two coffee places on the way and public toilets. The only problem is that some folk want to run and some want to walk really fast and we keep feeling ‘in the way’. However we try not to let that bother us ... it is very busy in the morning, especially in high season, You can watch for whales out in the ocean and admire the flowers and trees and wish you lived in one of the gorgeous villas

This is the third beach I've been too and have enjoyed it the most. Beautiful water, saw whales!!, but it was rather windy. We were there in the afternoon, around 2-4pm and it was just too windy and water too rough to go snorkeling. Other sources say go in the morning. Enjoy!

This beach is walking distance from our condo, but that is only one reason I so love it. There is always space no matter what time of day you go. The sand is so soft, the water is so clear. Turtles swim by regularly. Oh yes, there is a bathroom too!

Ulua Beach

The best snorkeling spot in Wailea.

Reviewed By cindy r - Ocean City, Maryland

This beach is along the Wailea Beach Path. There are 4 public beaches along the path (length of path is 1.5 miles). The 4 beaches are separated by rocks, but you can walk along the path and access all 4 beaches. Tan sand, clear water. Various sizes and various crowds.

If driving in, you’ll probably go to the one closest to parking. If staying along the beach, you’ll probably go to the one closest to your hotel. They are all about the same, and they all offer swimming and snorkeling. Beware: no lifeguards. Swim with a buddy. Stay away from the rocks.

This is the NORTH end of the path.

Mokapu Beach Park and Ulua Beach Park are right next to each other, just separated by rocks in the water.

Great for picnicking, snorkeling and swimming. We rented snorkeling equipment and they recommended this beach as it has a protective cove area. We saw fish and my daughter saw a green sea turtle. There were small tidal pools created in the rocks near shore and we found sea urchins and small fish. Later in the afternoon it got windier, but early afternoon worked out well. It's right off the main road in Kihei with free parking.

This beach is absolutely breathtaking. We have traveled all over the world and consider this to be one of the top beaches we have encountered. Big Beach is extraordinary, with lifeguards, pristine sand, and volcanic cliffs behind. The snorkeling was decent right off of the shoreline and we saw many types of fish and a sea turtle. It's best to arrive early to get good parking.

This beach is beautiful with soft sand, snorkeling around the rocks at either end, lifeguards, food right across the street at Mooses and Fred's. I always stay at Kihei Kai Nani resort across the street as well. In the evening many people gather here for a great sunset...there is even a wall to sit on from the sidewalk!
