We turned up at Cupitt’s, and certainly thought the surroundings and restaurant decor were beautiful. Two stars for that.
However, the cellar door was closed because of some function, so we were redirected to a small table in the restaurant. Despite being a brewery, we weren’t able to taste the beers (unless we bought them first of course). They had about three cheese varieties on display but no actual cheese-tasting either. I was underwhelmed, to say the least.
Regarding the wines, we quickly realised most of them were not grown on site, but in Orange or Hilltop or Canberra. The only wine grown locally was not even available. It was at that point we just walked away.
What’s the point of visiting a cellar door only to buy wine grown elsewhere? Seems pointless if you can’t even try the local variety.
My recommendation is to call ahead to make sure there isn’t any function happening, as they will have most of the staff’s attention.
The restaurant itself looks nice, and the menu has interesting food, but we didn’t stick around to eat because we were too annoyed.

I’m retired, my wife is not far behind and we’ve been married for years! So why did we have to prove we are married one might ask?
As a visitor to a Registered Club in NSW, Legislation requires you to be over 18 and residing more than 5 klms away, but the Legislation does not specify how these conditions are to be applied, it’s at the Club’s discretion. Often you simply sign a visitor’s register with your name and address and that’s what my wife did without any problem at another registered club the previous evening as we travelled along the NSW South Coast.
According to Tripadvisor, the Golf Club is the #1 thing to do in Mollymook, and following a recommendation from our hotel, we decided to have a meal there. On arrival, I produced my NSW driver licence, complete with DOB and address (proving I lived 285 klms away in Sydney), so there was no problem for me. My wife however does not drive, so does not have a licence, but she was not given the courtesy of signing the visitors register; we were asked to prove we were married!!! Why? And more to the point how do you do it at short notice?
Whilst we were both well presented, had a multitude of ID cards, such as credit cards, Medicare cards, Health Membership cards etc. in the same name and even both names, none of which have addresses on, nothing would convince the young lady receptionist and we were refused entry, with absolutely no discretion given. This was the first time it has happened to us at any establishment anywhere in the world, and we’ve even visited remote villages in China without a problem, where the locals and police view any foreigners with total suspicion. I was told if I became a member of the Club (there’s a fee), then I could sign my wife in as a guest, but as we were only in the area for the night, it wasn’t worth it.
Returning to our hotel room, I immediately lodged details of the event with the Club online whilst they were still fresh in my mind. The next day I received an emailed, prompt and very courteous response from the Assistant Manager saying, amongst other things, that the Legislation was “difficult to manage”. I replied with more details and asking, in the absence of a driver licence for my wife, what other documents would have satisfied their requirements? They suggested pensioner card (but it doesn’t have an address on so not acceptable) Seniors Card (again no address on so not acceptable), Electricity account (had one on my mobile phone but no wifi) or Rego papers (not recommended by the Police to keep in your car) so my wife would still not qualify. So, probably unlike most reviewers posting negative reviews, I first paid the Club the courtesy of communicating in private before posting.
As a longtime Member of Tripadvisor (I use them as my reference for everything, hotels, restaurants, things to do) I am posting my very first, 1-star (the lowest you can give) review of an establishment anywhere in the world (all my others have been 5-star, and positive). I can’t comment on the food etc. in the club as we did not manage to get inside because of the arguably bizarre, hardline attitude of the receptionist.

This is the sort of thing that overseas tourists would pay a fortune to see.The birds all started to arrive about 30 minutes before feeding time and there were hundreds. They were so noisy and colourful. A real treat to watch

We went on an early December evening before the holiday crowds arrived. The service was friendly, fast and efficient and the food was much better than the average bistro food often served in pubs or clubs. We decided to go because we heard that the Tallwood (Mollymook) chef had taken over the management of the kitchen...(love Tallwood). Of course, it's not fine dining here like Tallwood and the food is a lot more basic - but tasty and more imaginative than your average hotel. It's a shame that the large deck was taken over by a very loud/drunk and rowdy drinking crowd - we thought that by going early we may have been able to have at least a drink on that deck but it was impossible to hear each other speak so we moved back inside. Not sure if the bistro management can do much about that as the bar and bistro might be 2 separate arrangements? We look forward to going back in winter when they have the old fireplace going - might give the indoor space a lot more ambiance...something lacking a bit at the moment.

The Warden Head Lighthouse is at the end of Deering Street in Ulladulla. The carpark is at the base of the lighthouse. There are several walks to do here. The lighthouse is not open to the public, and needs some TLC. The views are great, and we saw whales the day we were there

I've done a couple of classes at Om Sweet Om and can honestly say, as a yoga teacher myself, Chantal is an extraordinary teacher.
The classes are put together well, the studio is very clean and inviting. I look forward to practising more with Chantal and her crew.

We were visiting the wonderful little Fossil House when the friendly staff member told us about the geological time walk on the north side of Ulladulla Harbour.
For every metre you walk you journey through 2 million years of geology of the area. Not too much information to read and the displays of rocks really help to tell the story.

We parked in the carpark at the end of Burleigh Way. There is a short, level boardwalk to the Bogey Hole, with Seating along the way. You can sit and watch the surfers, or just soak up the beautiful scenery. The bogey hole is a natural rock enclosure for swimming. It was calm and flat the day we were there, with lots of kids swimming.
You can also reach the Bogey Hole by walking south along Mollymook Beach, but it's a much longer walk.

Situated right on the shore of beautiful Burrill Lake on the south coast of NSW, Dominica operates Burrill Lake SUP hire, lessons and sales. She is an excellent fully accredited stand up paddle board coach.
The lovely pristine quiet waters of Burrill Lake make it an ideal SUP beginners playground with very shallow waters available to learn in.
Thoroughly recommended for your stand up paddle experience with lots of SUP's for sale in stock.
