Venabustallen - Day Trips

Horse back riding in the Norwegain mountains is one of the many activities Venabu Hotel has to offer. We have about 20-25 horses in our stable "Venabustallen" each summer. We have mainly Norwegain Dole horses, but also some other breeds suited for walking in the mountain. We arrange riding holidays and riding weekends, as well as shorter riding trips. Here you will find riding activities for everyone in the family - young and old, experienced or not. We have experiences guides on every trip, and are approved by the Norwegian association for horses used in tourism: "HiT". Welcome to Venabustallen!

Kvitfjell

A number of excellent roundtrips enable skiers to enjoy the mountains (above the tree-line) as well as a varied forest terrain. The network of cross-country ski trails covers both the eastern and the western side of Kvitfjell. As part of the World of Peer Gynt, Kvitfjell can offer over 1,000 km of machine-groomed ski trails, and the area borders Skeikampen to the south and Gala to the west.

Kvitfjell Skardbua Fagerhoi

At Skardbua, the mountain biking route starts with high-standard and challenging tracks leading up to Slagfjella and on to Rognhogda before it ends with a downhill section to Fagerhoi. Some of the tracks can be very demanding, and will present genuine challenges for the mountain biking enthusiast. A few of the sections are very difficult and steep, and it may be necessary to dismount. As you reach the bare mountains and Rognhogda, you will be able to enjoy spectacular views of Rondane, Synnfjellet, Jotunheimen and the rest of the World of Peer Gynt. The section from Rognhogda and down towards Fagerhoi is an excellent downhill ride along a narrow, high-quality track. Then follows a gentle ride from Fagerhoi to Vendalen, and the route continues via Digerasen and Svinslaa and back to the starting point.
