The interesting aspect of this park, besides the nice areas in which to stroll is the connection of the land to the water - and if you cannot read French, you may want to read up on the park online in advance, but the system of trying to bring wetlands back to the edges of the Saint Lawrence seaway is pretty fascinating. Large parts of the island edges are reeded marshlands which are natural water purifiers, habitats and hold soil and the island intact from erosion much better than the artificial weirs and embankments that were put in place in the early 1900's. Even if you don't understand the French explanations on the explanation boards, some of the schematics are self explanatory. Don't forget to stop by the Ice Creamery to the South as you exit the parking area - only open in teh summer months. Or there is Le Favoris across the street, a Quebec Levis soft serve icecream / chocolaterie with a dizzying array of dips and flavours... a more pricey (luxurious) indulgence.
