From the outside, it´s intriguing, with a mixture of styles,(baroque, neoclassical, mudejar) buttresses in one side and a lateral gate. But you´ll be surprised with the inside. It has many altarpieces and reredos, all covered in golden leaf on both sides and in the back, but the main altar was replaced with a Neoclassical one, probably after a fire or earthquake. Take the time so observe each of the altars, so full with details.

the claim to fame of Bernal is la Pena, one of the biggest monolith rocks in the world. It's a steep hike but very popular. The town itself is buzzing with tourists and there are little shops and restaurants everywhere. Definitely worth a visit. .

I love this plaza. It has two of the best restaurants in Queretaro at one end. The Fountain has four dogs on the corners. The water comes out of their mouths. Very nice. There is music and sometimes magicians in the plaza every night. Very safe, also

The aqueduct is not a knock your eyes out sight. The important thing to understand is without the huge and tedious construction, there probably would never have been a sustainable city here. Of course it was all probably indigenous slave labor. Such is history. The best view is from the Mirador at the mausoleum a couple of blocks above.

This 150-year-old semi-colonial building stands on the corner of two side-streets just off one of Queretaro's main squares (jardin Zenea) and is one of the city's main Theaters. Its position - on the crossing of two streets instead of a main square or wide avenue - is the first of the differences with most other Theaters. The second difference is its outer architectural style, which makes it rather look like any other government or institutional building in Mexico. Its original name was Teatro de Iturbide; which was later changed into Teatro de la Republica. It can be visited, so you don't need to attend any specific function or representation to see its inside.

Is a nigth walking tour around the down town City of Querétaro. We get into some old houses and alleys where actors acompannied by live music, represent different stories and some of theme are scary tales. It takes 1 hour 30 minutes and we have it every thirday, friday anda saturday, plus daily functions on vacation days. You can have a private group in english or spanish language.

Enjoyable theatrical show presented by a young actors company. They enjoy doing that for the tourists and they can share this feeling to the audience. Amazing place. It is mystical, it is peaceful it is inspiring and it is elevating. Surrounded by natural landscape, the sanctuary has a small chapel (copy of the original one in Germany) inside the chapel one can feel transported into a peaceful place. A most if you are religious and spiritual. A little bit hard to get to if you are not familiar with the city. Local taxis are an option. You can ask your driver to wait for you.

If for no other reason visit the Museum of Arts just to see in interior courtyard. Truly magnificent! It will be one of the best interiors you see in all of Mexico. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was FREE. If you wanted to take photos, there was a $15MEX charge (extremely reasonable). It is not a large museum! There is an interesting collect, albeit small, of contemporary art. It was still interesting enough to capture the attention of my 10 year old grandson. As it is just a block off Madero Street in the historical center of Queretaro, it is well worth a short visit so as to see the building.
