Basiliek H.H. Agatha en Barbara

Reviewed By Timothy S - Eindhoven, The Netherlands

I visited this Basilica during my visit to Oudenbosch actually because I did not know what to do. I only expected to see a normal operating church thus did not expect any nice interior. Apparently I was wrong as inside the church basically the replica of the famous St. Peter's basilica with a smaller size. As I scrutinized a little bit, I found that this church has a touch from the famous Dutch architect Dr. P. Cuypers. This fact explains this surprising finding.
Definitely highly recommended once one visits Oudenbosch.

First time visitor to the skidome. We has two races, which were quite good fun. Quite tricky to handle on the ice, which is what it is all about. Don't expect loads of gokart speed, but do expect that your skills driving on ice will be put to the test. Intro video session to help you. Ideal for anyone who does not speak Dutch, the staff can speak English and the video tutorial has English subtitles if you prompt the staff.

Moeierboom

Reviewed By TravelDaan - Etten-Leur, The Netherlands

Locals call this lime tree 'The Moeierboom' for ages. People say it could be planted in the Golden Age. It is a beautiful poetic landmark in our often transformed village centre. Fun facts: Vincent van Gogh drew this tree (for real!) during his younger years living in Etten-Leur. And did you know there is a very tasteful sweet liqueur named after this tree? It's is locally sold under the name 'Moeierboomke'. If this tree ever dies, we villagers will drink our sorrow away with it.

Stichting Nederlands Zouavenmuseum

Reviewed By RHAHJ - Nijmegen, The Netherlands

This is quite a small museum, but it tells a unique part of history. The Zouaves were Catholics who went to fight for the Papal state during the Italian unification wars. The museum displays many items kept by returning Zouaves, and of course the background and important battles are explained. I think this may be the only museum in the world treating this subject, although there used to be one in France, and you'd expect one in Rome too. If you want to spend a day exploring some history of Catholicism, Oudenbosch (also the basilica and the chapel) is the place to go. I think a sunny day is best to enjoy the Italian atmosphere of the town.

An outdoor playground in the center of Roosendaal

Reviewed By George H - Mechelen, Belgium

This is a good outdoor playground suited best for young and very young kids. There is a lot to do here and the well maintained activities kept our kids amused for our entire visit. A small entrance fee keeps the undesirables away and there's a small cafe on-site serving snacks and drinks. Parking is limited so be prepared for a short walk to the entrance.
