Colline du Calvaire d’Oka

Not knowing what I was walking to except for the display boards as you enter, this was quite an enthralling experience to enter each dome dedicated to a station of the cross. The trail offered some ups and downs in elevation, birds flying in great flocks throughout the trees, almost sounding like water rushing over a falls there were so many, Autumn colors decoarated the trail, the domes for the stations were depicting in bas relief the pains and glory of 'Christ, very well done, view from the top was magnificent

Oka Beach

Reviewed By LindaPTravels - Toronto, Canada

We went to Hudson and Oka specifically to go to Oka Beach and it didn't disappoint. We didn't have much of a summer and with September weather in the 30's with full sun for days on end we decided to try it out. The beach is 11km long and was nice and sandy where we were. We ended up buying a pass to allow us to come next year as well. There were lots of families and nice playgrounds for the kids but we went all the way to the left of the beach and enjoyed our time there :)

Oka National Park

Park national d'Oka is not far from Montréal. This park has a rich historical and natural heritage. The Calvaire, with its four oratories and three chapels, is a unique complex of historic buildings in America. In Grande Baie and Rivière aux Serpents, land and water come together to give birth to ecological jewels: the wetlands. Winter and summer alike, the top of the Calvaire d'Oka trail provides an exceptional view of Lac des Deux Montagnes and the Adirondacks. Soothing and magnificent...

We went there for a quick walk during the fall season, all along the beach, on what was a beautiful and warm day, at the end of October. The good: The beauty of nature. Path walkways so it is easy for wheelchairs. Quiet and nice. Not crowded. Enough parking. Facilities open. Person at entrance gate very nice and useful. The bad: Person at gate being so nice made waiting to enter long. Bikes on walkway too often present and going fast. Garbage and recycling bins in middle of everywhere sort of ruins decor. Sinks not working in men’s washroom. Covid restrictions: Hand sanitizers at all entrances. Employees wearing masks. Hand dryers in washrooms too close to each other. This was a very nice walk on that afternoon. The “bad” did not tarnish our day at all.
