Khao Yai National Park

This national park covers more than 2,000 square kilometers of evergreen Forests, Mountains and grasslands, which offer a variety of hiking trails and many Waterfalls, the highest and most magnificent of which is Haew Narok at 80 meters.

Reviewed By Gapori - Lancaster, Pennsylvania

Khao Yai National Park is about 3 hours by car from Bangkok. The park has many water falls, some require long walk and one does not require much walk but has very steep and narrow steps. About a mile walk from the main road, one can see some wild life such as elephants, sambar and Barking dears, birds etc. The park is very crouded during the weekend when you will see thousands of camps. The will lfe can be seen near the main road during night time. There are plenty of rest rooms. Water falls are ok, not super. I suggest spending more time tracking wildlife.

A fantastic place to visit. Nice Hotel rooms and Restaurant and shop. Very good wine tour the tour guide a Thai/New Zeelander was great. The Owner family was nice especially the daughter Nikki. Food in the restaurant ok (but reduce the number of dishes and make the once you keep even better.). The service in the restaurant can improve. The wines are ok. Breakfast very good. There should be someone in the staff with better knowledge in English. It would help a lot and make the stay even better. Today if you ask the staff about things to do in the area the can not answer. Good luck in the future! We will come back.

Staying at Nhapha Resort close by it was a must to check our this Art Museum. We really were surprise finding this place in the middle of the greenery. The great outdoor sculptures and the contemporary paints in the 3 rooms. We never would have expected finding this kind of place at Khao Yai it it's a perfect stop over coming or going into the National Park. There are also villas near by for rental. A place for art lovers outside Bangkok. And all comes free of charge.

Toscana Valley Country Club

The restaurant has both indoor & outdoor seats. The indoor part is nicely decorated & air conditioned. The outdoor part overlooks the swimming pool & the mountain. Fantastic view & very pretty atmosphere. Service is good. But the food portion is extremely small, very unreasonable compared to the prices which are very high. When I say the portion is "extremely small", I mean if a lady is hungry, she can easily finish 2 plates of "pasta" there. The portion is almost half of what is usually served in other high-end restaurants. But prices are not lower than anywhere else in Khao Yai.

Primo Piazza Khao Yai

Good place for photography with very scenic backdrops. Highlight of this place is the close encounter with donkeys, alpacas, sheep, goat.
It would be perfect if there is a proper restaurant serving lunch or dinner, maybe some sort of Italian cuisine. Unfortunately, there are only cafe, snack bars.
Nevertheless, good to drop by and exercise your creativity on photography.

Haew Suwat Waterfall

Haew Suwat waterfall is the easiest waterfall that we can reach in Khao Yai National Park. Steps quite steep but manageable. You have to jump over several big branches and rocks to be close to the waterfall but once you see it closely, it is really worth the effort.

Pete Maze

An ideal place to spend 45 minutes while enroute to other places. The maze was deceptively difficult to navigate and there was no easy way to reach the end point (unless you use the emergency exits). A good distraction for children.
