Iyon Stream Nature Reserve

In the Nahal Ayun Nature Reserve, where the stream passes from the Ayun Valley in the "Finger of Galilee" to the Hula Valley, there is a beautiful gorge with many flowing Waterfalls.

The Nahal Snir Nature Reserve (Hasbani)

The Snir Stream (Hatsbani) is the longest of the Jordan River tributaries. The stream flows all year round, through a well-developed “riverside forest” of plane trees and travertine walls. Unlike the other Jordan tributaries, the Snir Stream is naturally affected by flooding, and so there are noticeable differences in flow between winter and summer.

Banias Waterfall

Reviewed By Lancealot13 - Carrollton, Georgia

Here you find much more than a fantastically beautiful waterfall. As you drive up to the lower portion of the park, you see the ruins of the Temple of Pan (Panias has been corrupted to Banias over the centuries). Sacrifices to Pan were made in the ominous cave--called the Gates of Hades--which still has water running through it. The hike up to the waterfall is not very difficult at all, and the pay off is its natural beauty. Keep hiking and you will arrive at the source of the falls--and one of the sources of the Jordan River---as well as the ruins of Caesarea Philippi, built by Herod Philip and named after Caesar.

Manara Cliff

Reviewed By AlexJDKing - Jerusalem, Israel

My extended family of six people paid in advance for a "triple" deal which included the cable car, a "train tour" and the bob-sleigh-on-train-track activity. The cost was 122 sheqels (31 dollars) per person but we got discounted tickets (71 sheqels) though my wife's work. We arrived shortly after opening time (11:00). We spent half an hour queuing to change our tickets for vouchers, then another half an hour queuing for the cable car. The cable car ride was OK, but we could have actually driven our car up to the Manara village for free. When we got to the top of the cliff we had to register and wait 2 hrs for the "train tour". During this time we waited an hour for a "guided tour by foot" which was 15 minutes late: And what was this tour: a "guide" took us for a 10 meter walk to the back of the cafe to show us the view - really disappointing! And the train tour was a 20 minute drive in a trolley attached to a tractor, and the driver couldn't even get the mp3 tracks for the "guided tour" correct. We saw the border with Lebanon which was interesting... but why did we have to wait so long for this when the tractor was sitting empty waiting all this time. Also at the top there was a bit of painting for the kids to do and a broken neglected crazy golf set and a pathetic excuse for a "slackline". The pièce de résistance was the "bobsleigh". We spent OVER AN HOUR waiting in line like sardines for a rubbish 2 minute ride. I get more of a thrill riding my bike. By the time it was over there was no time left for 4 or our 6 persons to go on this ride as the park was closing. I understand I could have paid DOUBLE the entrance fee for some "extreme" sports which would be completely unsuitable for grandparents or for small children.

Kfar Blum Kayaks

Reviewed By Nechama S - Miami Beach, Florida

we got to Kfar blum a bit late- around 1:30 pm during the summer peak tourist season. our cashier at the entrance of the park gave us some sage advice. she told us to buy tickets for the kayaking and also for entrance to the park where all the attractions are- the zip line into the river, the rope course, the rock climbing wall. the park closes at 4 and that is also the time when the last kayaks leave. so she told us to go to the park first, enjoy whatever time we had there and then to be on the bus to the beginning of the kayaking line by four. that way we could do both the kayaking and the attractions in the park. had we just gotten on the kayaks at that point, we wouldn't have had time for the park. so that worked out well. we bought our tickets at the beginning of the kayaking line, then drove to the end of the line- the "park", where the kayak route ends. our kids enjoyed the zip line and the rope course. it was hot as can be. 40* C which is roughly the temperature you roast chicken at in your oven. we survived- there are shady areas and ice cream and drinks for sale. my big kids were a bit bored- not interested in braving the long lines. they are 21, 19 and 17. my 17 year old tried the archery- he said it was surprisingly hard. but he was glad to have had a chance to try it. my younger kids had a blast (14, 12, 8, 6). they enjoyed the zip line and rope course. For your information: in order to do many of the activities there, you have to put on a harness that they provide. if you're wearing pants, shorts or a loose skirt you can do this. if you're wearing a tight skirt, this is really difficult. just so you know. there are also lockers available for rent. I recommend going there in water-friendly clothes and shoes so you're all ready to go. there are showers available and bathrooms. as long as the bus picks you up around 4 you can still get on the kayak. we arrived at the beginning of the kayaking line around 4:15 and no one hassled us (thank God!). you choose your life vest, sit through a short lecture about water safety- they offer it in English or Hebrew. and off we went for an hour- hour and a half leisurely ride down the Jordan river. it was wonderful! we split into 2 boats. only 2 people per boat need to paddle. truth is, the water current was strong enough even in august to push us along efficiently. we could have all just coasted. the water is pleasantly cool and clean. you can easily jump off the side of the kayak to swim a bit. there are other people bopping along the river in inner tubes, doggies paddling around happily with their owners, families lounging on the banks of the river. it was really lovely, even on that very very hot day. there is a small waterfall towards the end of the route. it was a second of thrill on an otherwise very sedate and pleasant run. we usually go up to the Galilee every summer. now we have another attraction to add to our list of must-dos. it was the nicest, most fun thing we did this trip.

The quality of the ice is OK, though it is a bit fragile near the edges. The rink is Olympic size so there's tone of place to do stunts.
I saw a show of figure skating during the break, it was stunning.
Worth a visit to whoever addicted to ice skating.

Tel-Hai

Reviewed By DannyTheDigger - Israel

A plot purchased for Jewish settlement that was attacked and destroeyd by Arabs in 1920. The last words of its Jewish commander, Yosef Trumpeldor, were "Oh well, it is good to die for the country". This statement would become a famous phrase in the Zionist movement. The site developed about a decade ago into an impressive visitors center, using high-tech visuals and videos to illustrate daily life at the pionneers farm, and the battle that brought it to an end. A highly recommended experience for any one interested in the History of the State of Israel!
