Le Chemin du Calvaire

Megeve is beautiful. The Chemin du Calvaire is accessible from the town centre. The tourist office people were very friendly and provided a map and information. The trail is a short distance, a bit steep but not far and definitely worth the walk.

Combloux Ecological Moutain Lake

Reviewed By Michael K - Warsaw, Warszawa, Poland

It's hard to describe what a wonderful spot the Combloux Lac is but for about €5 per person you get to swim in a very unusual man made lake while looking up at the snowy peaks of Mont Blanc. And no, it is not heated. But the lake is one thing, there is a sauna there, a hammam, you can have a massage, there is a lovely shaded restaurant that will not break the bank.
But the lake and its huge enormous view is what takes your breath away each time. That said, if you are a large group it would be wiser and a lot cheaper to head to the lake at Passy.

Les Contamines-Montjoie Ski Resort

The Contamines ski area is located in the charming village called Les Contamines-Montjoie in the Haute Savoie french Alpes region. The ski area has two sides one in les Contamines and one in Hauteluce in the Savoie region. The ski area has a total of 46 slopes and 25 lifts. It's the perfect ski resort for family, with a good natural snow cover, with commitment for the quality of the slopes and an exceptional view on the Mont-Blanc massif.

We've just returned from a late season week in Les Contamines, as Megève, where we were based, had no snow. Although a much smaller resort, there were still plenty of runs open to keep us occupied, all in glorious Sunshine. Blue 'Boulevard', red 'Nantes Rouge' and black 'Tobogan' were particularly good. Les Contamines has the friendliest staff I have ever experienced - lots of smiles, help loading skis into the gondola and slowing chairlifts for those less experienced. The lift pass was good value for money. A great little resort!
