A visit to Goldstream Provincial Park during the salmon run is a treat not to be missed. There is an observation trail along the river where you can see the fish as they work their way up river. Quite a sight

Spa day with my daughter was great. My daughter had a massage and I had a facial-services were very good. Started the afternoon with a light lunch and Mimosa up in the Masters lounge and then we checked into the spa downstairs. Very nicely decorated and a beautify setting with tree and mountain views from the forest lounge area of the spa. My only criticism would be that the outdoor mineral pool was not clean ... just debris from the surrounding trees and plants but it was a little bit yuck. All the staff were great. There were some complementary snacks and tea offered in the forest lounge but the choices weren't great.
We used the steam room and the sauna and both were good.
Overall this was a great afternoon and I would go back!

Played the Mountain course Wow wow great.
But building a building estate which is killing the course quality well this is due to the place going bust.
Kills the crows and experience ,pool to part of the north Langford estate very crowded with children on site not Westins pool?.
Need I'd for drinks two forms photo,no blenders at pool bar and hotel w you would think this is a must.
Great for golf in an estate a shame profit over looks clad I played it know as I think may be over played when only a estate course.
Play soon is my advise and SPN card holder get better rooms with golf course views.
Lots of building going on.

Bear Mountain Golf Resort - Valley Course

The Valley course meanders through forest, borders lakes, and traverses creeks and rivers throughout its 18 holes, while offering spectacular views of Vancouver Island's beautiful landscape. In contrast to the existing Mountain course, the par 71 Valley course measures 6807 yards from the Golden Bear tees - around 400 yards shorter than its sibling. Factor in elevated tee boxes, more generous fairway widths, fewer bunkers and larger greens and the Valley course will likely be considered a 'friendlier' version of the original. Rolling through terrain at elevations of between 300 and 500 feet above sea level, there is still plenty of challenge, and many holes that could be considered the signature hole.

We have golfed many, many courses in BC, and this is one of the most beautiful courses I have had the pleasure of playing. Green fees are steep at $149 or $159 weekends, however we played twilight for $90.00 each + cart. The whole Westin resort is stunning, but about a 25-30 minute drive from the harbor in Victoria, so a bit isolated if you plan on doing the tourist thing downtown. We played the Valley course which I have heard is the nicer of the two, it winds through the woods and deer are abundant!

This course is excellent in as much as it is a traditional course, not long but good layout and well maintained. Tight fairways and you must think you way around the course; no good being a "basher" off the tee. The breakfast we had was excellent.

We went to the bowling alley for a friend;s 40th birthday. There were 15 or so of us and this was a great place for a group to gather, have some fun and have some snacks.
We rented 3 lanes for 2 hours which was just the right amount of time. The lights were a bit much (don't go if you are sensitive to lights/noises) and it was a bit loud but overall, a fun night out. It seems to be a popular place to go so I'm guessing Reservations are the best route.

Impressive location to watch millionaires play with their toys and Joe Average on a tight budget trying to compete. Kind of funny really, entertaining place. Went to car show kind of thing, pretty cool, had fun. One thing that surprised us though, where were all the Exhibitions? The ones with products, go fast stuff, pretty girls in bikinis? This place has so much potential but kind of seemed a bit pretentious. Almost like an Ivy League clique. Could be I just don't get it. I drag raced a bike for years, it seemed like we were a lot friendlier to people. Could be my mistake though. Awesome facility though, they should put on rock Concerts, car shows, family stuff as well as the racing or at least more of it.

Decided to take in a matinee movie while visiting in Langford/Victoria and my wife and step-daughter went shopping. Very surprised to discover they had an IMAX there. Saw "The Hobbit" (Invasion of the five armies?). The theatre was clean and comfortable. The gentleman taking admissions was very professional and courteous. Same with the gentleman receiving tickets on the way in to the theatre. Patrons there were quite respectful and unlike many other theatre movie experiences, it was relaxed and enjoyable. People here have a lot of class. Not sure how much this has to the type of movie or the time of day; overall, I had a great experience there. Will be back again with family for sure!
