Sibelius Hall was built in 2000 adjacent to an old factory building. The modern wooden architecture is combined with the old industrial history in the most interesting way.

I was here in a concert. The music hall is pleasant and you are near the performers. The entrance hall is an interesting mixture of a brick wall and wooden architecture. The coffee and pastries were quite expensive during the break. Free parking.

Motorcycle Museum in Lahti in Finland, located next to Lake Vesijarvi. An annual rotating exhibition includes almost 100 historic restored bikes all around the world within interesting stories. In the same building is also Ace Corner Finalnd cafe and restaurant. Ace Corner Finland is the first Ace outside of London. Ace Corner is closed during the winter season from September to April. We work on Museum's office usually from Monday to Friday 10-17. But email or call us in advance. On weekends we can receive groups to the Museum as long as they are booked in advance.

What a fantastic find! Having seen some information in our local paper, decided to drive the one hour to see the exhibition today (Saturday), and it certainly exceeded expectations!
All the exhibits were in excellent condition, together with enough information about each one, in addition it was tastefully laid out, with a great deal of thought going into the presentation and detail, even for someone with no knowledge, there is lots to see.
Café had excellent food, and even the Spitfire beer taps were moulded out of a small engine – absolutely brilliant, unfortunately I was driving!
A few weeks ago we were in the UK, and visited the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, which traced the history of UK manufacturers, and had 100’s of motorcycles, wonderful to see, but for visual presentation, Lahti cannot be beaten.
Having lived in the UK, before moving to Finland, I know exactly where the original Ace Café was, having passed it more times than I can remember.
This exhibition should be a MUST visit for anyone in the area.

My favorite place there is The Piano pavilion. It's about 200 meters from the boat restaurants. Just walk pass the Sibelius house (concert hall). It's an amazing piece of woodwork. Just look around and be amazed. heck the chairs especially, no nails or screws to be found. Enjoy your drink and the sunset.

The Lahti Ski Museum is a relatively small museum (easily seen in less than an hour). The first part of the museum covers the history of skiing in Finland, mainly as it relates to cross-country skiing and ski jumping but also touches on the role of skiing during the Winter War. Since the first part can be tedious for kids, the second part of the museum includes interactive games, including a ski jumping simulator and a biathlon shooting range. Upstairs there are also some special exhibits. The museum also includes a souvenir shop which has some quality items but at a premium price. Just outside the museum there is also a restaurant and cafe.
Any visit to the museum should really be combined with a visit to the Lahti Sports Center, meaning a ride to the top of the large ski jump tower. The museum sells combined tickets to both the ski jump tower and the museum. The ski lift and ski jump tower may be closed to the public during the winter months.

I was there with a friend to visit the Nordic Ski games in March 2014: First cross-country skiing (men, then women), afterwards skijumping.
The stadium is small, but nevertheless, the atmosphere was very good. After a five minute-walk from the stadium, you have reached a position on the mountain from were you have a good view on different parts of the cross-country skiing track.
Moreover, the view on all of the ski-jumps is excellent. You have the possibility to get very close to athletes and take pictures with them.
In addition, you have the chance to warm up again (and to party) in the nearby hall which is directly behind the stadium (access is for free).
I can highly recommend this attraction and enjoyed the time there.

We visitied this church partly because Aalto was the architect and partly because it has been used as a recording venue by the Lahti Symphony Orchestra. We thought the brick exterior was unattractive but liked the white interior.

This is a place to stop if sky is clear and you wanna stop sitting in a car and take family out for a walk. It's a really nice and big playground offering lots of things to do. This is where kids can climb and run safely.
Park run by the city (so it's free entrance!) and if you are lucky and arrive at the office hours, there are some extra activities available: traffic town with pedal cars and a small stream where you can compete rubber duck against a boat who gets down to the pond first. We just love this! We tend to visit here every summer.

The museum is located in small park few steps away from bus station. The nice building on
stroyeno in the depth of park.
According to the contents the museum is interesting first of all to residents of Finland, however we with interest studied the sections devoted to a development of the city, household aspects of life and a heavy fire in Lahti.
The separate mention is deserved by interactive registration of an exposition of the museum. It is very convenient for visitors, is modern and is evident. Time spent in the museum between train and bus was spent not for nothing.

Lahti City Hall is a wonderful piece of famous Finnish architect Eliel Saarinen. It was built 1912, and has similar elements like Helsinki Main Railway Station and Joensuu City Hall, also designed by Eliel Saarinen.
The building is used by the Lahti City Council and other staff from Lahti City.
Guided tours are available on order from Tuesday to Friday from 9 A.M. to 2 P.M. There is lunch restaurant Tyrmä (Dungeon) on the basement floor.

This museum is located Radiomäki hill, and it's landmark is two HUGE radio towers, still on use this day mobile and other radio purpose, even it's not sending anymore any ordinary radio broadcast.
Area is REAL radio station, now 'archived' on museum use, outside has own treasure. Museum is filled old electronics. Place has also own Telecom corner, local phone company PHP = Päijät-Hämeen Puhelin, now working name DNA has given telecom switchboard on museum, one is even working. Also place has own TV-studio and radio effect studio where is possible record own show, currently CD / DVD disc.
Museum has own store what sells Lahti branded stuff, price range is low. Visa / MasterCard cards working fine on museum.
