Roskilly's

Roskilly’s are based at Tregellast Barton Farm on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. We are a family run business milking 125 Jersey cows. Our small pastures have been farmed in a traditional and sustainable way for generations, and we have always farmed without the use of pesticides and artificial fertilizers. All of our delicious ice creams and hand crafted fudges are made using rich organic Jersey milk and cream from our own herd of Jersey cows. We also produce a range of jams and chutneys using old family recipes that have been handed down the generations. Our Farm and Café, the Croust House, is open all year round serving meals every day from breakfast, fresh salads to clay oven baked pizzas’ and American style smoked meats (summer months only). You can visit and feed all the farm animals: calves, pigs, goats, chickens, turkeys, geese & ducks. You can also go for a stroll around the ponds and withy woods and watch the milking at 4.30pm

Porthleven Harbour

A lovely harbour on a sunny February day. Surrounded by cafes, restaurants, pubs and boutiques. A lovely pebbly beach too with lots of rock pools to explore. I should imagine it would be heaving on a summers day with trouble parking, but off season it is lovely to stroll around with plenty of places to stop for a beverage. A must visit site in Cornwall.

Cornish Seal Sanctuary

Reviewed By Kingsley F - Cossonay, Switzerland

After an underwhelming day in St Ives, Newlyn and Mousehole we shot over to Gweek to see the seal sanctuary, arriving just 20mins before closing time, and even though the last tickets in winter are normally sold at 3pm, we begged them and they let us in with just enough time to visit the seals. This was a delightful ending to a so-so day with too many tourists and awkward journeys trying to get into St Ives, vastly overrated we thought. Even fir a quick visit we were happy to shell out towards the upkeep of these lovely creatures, but you could spend much longer and enjoy it immensely.

Mawgan Porth Beach

We stayed locally for 3 days, and this beach is just stunning. A massive expanse of sand at low tide, and due to the very gentle gradient, when the tide does turn its slow and steady up the beach so shouldn't catch you out. Lifeguards are on duty in the summer but not over New Year when we were there. Some interesting caves to explore at low tide too. and at the back of the beach a selection of restaurants and cafes to suit most budgets, and shelter from the incoming showers. A real cracker and we're coming back in the summer.

We visited on 28 December. We were made to feel very welcome, and had a lot round the museum, which is full of quite a wide-ranging but interesting collection of old stuff. We had an excellent tour of the mine by Wayne, full of information presented with great enthusiasm. We posted a card in the post box in the mine, quite fun.
Yes, it does seem to be expensive to start with but they are self funding and it is obviously an expensive place to run - apart form other costs, pumping the water out must be very expensive.

Visited the house with a very knowledgeable guide, wandered around the garden and walked up Godolphin Hill. Really good day.
It was interesting to find the house could be rented out, but with the lift permanently out of action it could put a number of potential hirers off.

Flambards Theme Park

Reviewed By beckylou444 - St Austell, United Kingdom

The whole park could do with some new attractions and updating! Has been the same for years and a lot of it looks tired & worn, was disappointed as some of the rides weren't there and is fairly pricey to get in & there are things that you have to pay extra for once inside.
The indoor museums are good, the kids enjoyed it there but would really benefit from a bit of money being put into it!
