Meseoniko Kastro

Reviewed By Mandybar - London, United Kingdom

I'm not going to pretend this is an easy option. We left the port at 6.30 a.m. to make sure we could manage the steep uphill walk before it was too hot. You will need plenty of water. You walk for about an hour uphill and then there is the steep climb to the top of the mountain to see the castle. Views are spectacular and so worth the effort. Collapsed at the taverna on Pondamos beach on the way back for a well earned breakfast.

Potamos Beach

Reviewed By VladimirSotnikov - Moscow, Russia

Once you're at Rhodes find a day to visit Chalki island (or Halki). The first beach you could find walking from the harbour is Potamos. On the south coast the large Pondamos bay makes this beach have warm and shallow waters. It's good for both kids and adults. Despite this it was not so crowdy at the end of September. The water is crystal clear. And with Nick's Taverna aside you can enjoy a whole day at the beach and catch evening boat back to Rhodes. It's fun! I recommend.

Fabulous little spot for swimming and sunbathing established and developed over two decades by an enterprising gentleman. The water is Crystal clear with rocks for snorkelling and there is a great little bar and restaurant. The food is really good, with lots of Greek specialities and served by friendly staff. Highly recommended.
