We totally fell in love with Halki during our one-week cruise. The town is incredibly quaint, charming and low-key. We had a lovely dinner at Valantis which is located right on the harbor. We had fresh tuna lightly grilled that was delicious. Appetizers were very good. Service was extremely friendly.

I visited here for a beer whilst in Halki. Very nice atmosphere and reasonably priced, with a great view overlooking the Port.

Although we were in Halki last year we did not visit the Taverna then but we rectified that this time. Saturday evening, 4th June, was the first of our visits to the Taverna during our 2 week stay in Halki, 1st to 15th June
This is one of the smaller Tavernas on the on the right hand side of the Port, on the clock tower side, when facing towards the sea. There is a rather permanent looking roof structure covering the Seating area, with a less permanent one towards the front.
Just outside the kitchen on right hand side is the grill/spit, where some of the food is cooked. On the other side is a lovely dark wood narrow spiral staircase, leading upstairs to the toilets. It all gives a bit of character and atmosphere to the Taverna. Must admit to climbing the staircase just for the experience
We ordered, chicken souvlaki and a Greek dish called Spetsofia (a local sausage stew) both meals were delicious and were washed down very nicely with a bottle of Retsina €4. We had a few beers before and after dinner, a large bottle of Alpha beer was €3.50. Main course dishes ranged from about €8 to €11 some fish and seafood dishes are more expensive.
On another visit we ordered chicken curry and a moussaka, the curry was nothing like what was expected it made chicken korma (mild) taste spicy. At least a curry was tried in Halki, the moussaka was good.
Nice friendly Taverna with good food.

Great view Great service Friendly owner and staff. Good food. Visited lots this year and couple of years ago. Simple food served in beautiful surroundings. Will be back again

Prices are very reasonable. You can have dinner for as little as 12€ per person, drinks included. Unfortunately the food is nothing special, poorly presented and average taste. Too few waiters which makes the service extremely slow. Only spent one night in Khalki, but there must be better places to eat in town than this teataurant.

We ate lunch and was served grilled fresh fish (directly from a box), shrimps with saganaki and tomatoesauce and grilled octopus. A pure delight! Located just by the harbour by the boats you get the right ambiance for a fish restaurant aswell. Highly recommendable if you visit Halki,

We have visited Halki quite a few times now and this is our favourite place to eat. The food is great and the service from Cristos, Nicky, Sara, Adonis and the team is excellent. They are all so friendly and helpful and there's always a very cheery atmosphere. We always eat here on our first and last nights in Halki and lots of nights in-between! Looking forward to next year already.

The best experience we had on the island was Garifalia ,the super girl who runs this restaurant ,we all loved her because she is sooooo polite ,smiling,generous ,clever and makes you feel so at home !we tasted everything ,we couldn't resist on trying all the dishes of the day !everything was authentic ,real good taste and very fresh !the spot is unique and the people who is next to Garifalia are sooo good persons !

A lovely bar great cakes & coffee, the baklava to die for!! Lovely fresh orange juice, friendly staff and a good menu. Comfy Seating to eat & drink and watch the fishermen & boats in the harbour. And not forgetting the lovely parrot beautiful grey & red colours, but I never got his/her name, but boy he/she make a noise!!
A lovely bar & well worth a visit.

We stayed a week in lovely quiet Halki and visited Maria's Taverna every lunchtime and one evening. It was very relaxing dining under the trees and watching the local life. The food was without exception fresh and delicious and inexpensive. We are planning a return to Halki and Maria's Taverna will be our first call, would highly recommend.
