Prime Community Park - Secret Garden

The Prime Community Park, also called the Secret Garden, started with a simple desire: to create a special place for the community to enjoy a tranquil respite. Alfred and Jolene Dingler, Karl Thomason and their families believe in a strong sense of community. As a way to give back, they have opened their gardens free of charge for others to enjoy.

Took two of my Granddaughters to the gardens for Winter Break. There 1st visit, my 4th. I just recently moved to the area. This place is magical. A true place of wonder. A whimsical garden. I can't begin to describe it. A must see for yourself. It is a photographer dream come true. I made so many pictures of the grandkids. They are working daily and adding new surprises to the gardens. They have a wonderful trail to walk. A place to picnic, a place to relax and read. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Everyone is so nice. And it's a gift to the community. God bless for all you do.

This is a very large property with vast potential but because of the internet and smart phones, places like this must change to attract visitors.

I think they are doing the best they can but they need need idea's to attract adults without children.

For a family event, it is a bit on the high price side, but it has to be because this place must be expensive to operate. Very difficult business to make profitable.

This local museum, housed in one of the only antebellum homes left on a square in Georgia. It has collections that connect it to various owners and visitors of the house, including Doc Holliday, Governor Dorsey, and Margaret Mitchell. There are numerous Civil War artifacts and other treasures from Fayette County history. Local authors: Robert Burch, Ferrol Sams, and Jim Minter are featured in the author room. The museum is a bargain at $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and students. A Book Club, Heritage Festival, and other events bring something for everyone to the museum.

CrossFit Kickstart

Reviewed By J R - Fayetteville, Georgia

Put this on Yelp, but these guys are great, so put it here too.

CrossFit Kickstart is one of Fayetteville's best kept secrets. (It's not the CrossFit at the old muffler shop. It's in the industrial park off S. Jeff Davis by the Sherriff's dept.) Chris Akeman, the gym's owner and head trainer, is constantly watching form and that ensuring benefits come from the workout without injury. He makes thoughtful adjustments and modifications considering each person's unique physical strengths and limitations. The first visit, you go get ranges of motion measured and through the motions to see where you might have issues to address, I have back problems and Chris and the other coaches consider this and help me adjust for it with each workout. This degree of personal training would cost a lot at a regular gym. I like that each workout is already programmed and there's a guided stretch and warm-up and instruction with each session.

The gym is huge, clean, private and well put together. The floors are fully padded and the equipment is new and pristine. I mostly do early mornings (5:15 am and sometimes 6:30 am) classes, but have done evening classes as well. The mood in the gym is always supportive and upbeat even on days when I'm not at my best. Chris tracks everyone's workouts with their software (you can log in and see all your workouts and your progress) and is prescriptive with weights used based each person's progression.

I got started when I won a free two-week free membership at the Fayette Family Market Day in the square in October and have been going since. I had never been to a CrossFit before, but everyone I know who has tells me that the level of personal attention and care at CrossFit Kickstart is exceptional. Each time I go I receive so much instruction and attention and I see the same happen with everyone in the workouts. I have a lot more energy and am definitely fitter. It's a great business and I try to go every day!
