Broadway Diner

Reviewed By cynth901 - Newnan, Georgia

Found Broadway Diner several years ago and was wowed by the great food. Loved it!

Over time we’ve noticed the quality has suffered. Their delicious corned beef used to be pulled from a delectable roast served in its juices with cabbage and potatoes. I actually craved that meal! Now, it’s just sliced processed corned beef...lunch meat like...not nearly as good. Big disappointment! Burgers not as juicy, Gyro dry and ho hum. Even the fries and other sides have suffered.

Breakfast foods still good...great waffles and pancakes. Waffles probably best I’ve ever eaten, but the chicken portion of chicken and waffles a hard, over cooked chicken patty.

Desserts are still amazing!! Sometimes we drop by just to get a slice of cake or pie to go.

Hope they will return to former days of consistently good food all round.

My wife and I have eaten at Frank's Old Mill Restaurant in Fayetteville, Georgia, on a number of occasions along the way. It has become one of our favorite restaurants in Fayetteville. The food and service are consistently excellent. And a table beside the windows overlooking the dam and the lake -- or millpond -- provides guests with a beautiful and relaxing place to share a memorable dining experience.

I have eaten here several times and have had a very good experience each time. The service is excellent as are most dishes. I lover the dumpling appetizer and highly recommend it. the dishes are pleantiful. The ambiance is not the best as it is in a stip mall on GA 54 but the food and service makes up for this. After all most people go to a restaurant for the food, not scenery.

Great job on the style makeover. Creative decor has turned what was built as a school cafeteria into much more of a restaurant atmosphere. And it is now easier to get to this part of the building, as you no longer have to go in the main front entrance or get a badge. This is great - much less walking involved since you can now park at that end and go in the doors which are just outside the restaurant space. An excellent improvement.

Still primarily a weekday lunch buffet, but they now offer some dinners and breakfast or brunch - call to check operating days and hours.

My first time back since the remodel was a late lunch on the Friday before Christmas. They had king crab legs, carving meats, and fried fish, priced at just under $20 per person, and it was packed.
They now have a hostess to seat people, and she assigns a table number when she calls your name. However, when she is away from her station, some people go on in, although there is a lectern at the door with a guest list and pen on it. I don't know what happens when those folks come out of the serving line with their food and don't have an assigned table number.

When the hostess calls your name, enter the restaurant space, and proceed back to the cash register. After you pay, you then enter the buffet line.

Buffet line -
Salad offerings are still nice and house made, now mostly pre-assembled - such as a wedge or a Greek, but they do still have nice loose greens and dressings. I do miss the variety of salad bar toppings, but understand that this new way keeps the line moving faster and is probably easier to manage.
Glad they still also have nice fresh cut fruit.

As always, there are several protein options - at least one fish or seafood, one poultry, and one beef choice. Then comes the vegetables, starches, and breads. Last is dessert - and I like the new way they served it the day I was there - slivers of various pies on paper muffin cup wrappers. The small size makes it possible to try more than one without getting over stuffed, and I imagine there is much less waste, which is always a good thing.

Just outside the buffet line is the drinks area, which now contains soda dispensers, etc.

I had never tried king crab legs before, and they were tasty. I appreciated the nice large bowls they serve them in, which made great receptacles for the shells after cracking.

Next to the cash register there is now a bar area, where it is possible to sit at a counter and order burgers. On the other side of that is an open refrigerated case containing grab-and-go items for purchase. I'm sure those who work in the building appreciate having faster, simpler options available in addition to the nice buffet which draws in the public.

Another new feature in the cafe is a glass case just inside the hostess stand doorway which contains lovely desserts available for purchase. This is nice to look at on your way out, but if you want to buy anything, you must find someone to get it out of the case for you, then go back to the cashier station to pay for it. I found that setup too inconvenient to consider making a purchase. If they really want to sell from that station, they will need to staff it.

Hubby and I enjoyed our lunch there and will return.

I drove from another state to visit this “Hawaiian” Chick-fil-a and was disappointed. The food was alright, definitely not as good as their original recipes and much more expensive. I did enjoy the more restaurant feel of the place and their outdoor deck. What bothered me the most was the way they handled my check. They brought me my check with the total and took my card. When they brought my final receipt they had charged me more than what was originally shown. After looking at both papers I noticed that they charged me for getting udon noodles instead of pasta salad with my meal even though they were the ones who informed me they didn’t offer the pasta salad anymore so I shouldn’t have been charged for that. I wasnt going to fuss with the staff over a $1 but probably won’t go back knowing they practice this level of dishonesty.

We lived in Houston, where had so many great Oriental foods, Restaurants... but we have to say this place cooked good food. We like Pho Beef Soup, Bun Bo Hue (Spicy Beef white noodle Soup), white noodle with eggroll+grilled pork serve with Vietnamese fish sauce... The staffs are great. The owner is so friendly...
