This is a very enjoyable circuit of a beautiful lake and we'll worth doing as a half day activity. The path is clearly signposted all the way around with a an indicative duration of 3 hours although depending on your level of fitness can be walked in a much shorter time. The path has a good surface and can be walked in light shoes if the weather has been dry, although hiking boots are probably best for the lightly wooded areas. Most of the walk is along flat or gently undulating ground with only a few sections with short slightly steeper ground, so is suitable for children. There are also nice cafes where you can break for refreshments in Fuschl, and on the wàterside near the other end of the lake (ie almost equidistant on the circuit). During most of the walk there are many lovely views of this beautiful lake and the surrounding hills and Mountains.

We traveled through Faistenau during a visit to the Zwolferhorn Mountain and lakes region. Best known for its cross country skiing, this quaint Alpine municipality was also beautiful without all the snow. The village was worth a stop to both relax and explore. We enjoyed the surrounding countryside...photo ops abound!

An extra star if the gondolas were a little more modern. However, that aside, the trip is fantastic with the alps and lakes opening up before you as you climb ever higher. A little expensive at around €46 for 2 but well worth it and something that should be on the list if you’re in this area.

This was the highlight of my trip. Great guides can pick you up from your hotel in Salzburg. Many great jumps and Waterfalls throughout the trip. Faced some fears but always felt comfortable with help from our guide!

Visited the town of Mondsee on a tour for The Sound of Music and saw the Basilica during this time. The building extremely beautiful with its bright yellow exterior. Saw it in the midst of the snow which made it even more exciting. Even for those who are not religious, this site holds great historical significance and is bound to be loved by all Sound of Music fans or those who are interested in different kinds of architecture. Would definitely recommend if you fit any of these categories. The inside is also very spacious and has nice statues and ornaments.

I was only made aware of this museum by chance from a leaflet at our Mondsee hotel. It was easy to find on the outskirts of Koppl, the Red Bull plane outside the light industrial unit was the giveaway ! During our visit there was plenty of free car parking right outside.
We had already visited the Red Bull Hanger-7 museum at Salzburg airport, Manro Classic Auto & Musik Museum could not be more different. Basically it looks like the best car boot sale you have ever been to. Rooms are packed floor to ceiling with random interesting stuff, model cars, model boats, guitars, jukeboxes, and stuffed fish ! In the main room is a collection of cars, along with other exhibits, including a jet engine and a glider. The car collection includes a number of 1960’s and 1970’s Ferraris, a pair of 1970’s Maserati’s and a rare early 1970’s Fiat Dino Spider.
The museum has a real charm about it which is often lacking at such attractions. If you are in the area and have a interest in classic sports cars it’s well worth a visit.

We visited the Zoo on Christmas day and were disappointed to find that a large number of animals were not on view. The Zoo does not include many indoor enclosures so it is not possible to see many of the animals in their winter quarters. The layout of the Zoo against the backdrop of a sheer cliff face is fantastic and I am sure that a visit in the spring and summer would be most rewarding.
There are good learning facilities for children and the café was not only well stocked but actually open even on Christmas day.

As skiers we are used to such environments but on a short break to Salzburg with non skiing friends we visited Untersburg and we all thought it was a great experience, particularly on a crystal clear day. We travelled there are the fantastic value Salzburg card which is a no brainer whilst in Salzburg, and this visit alone just about covered the 48 hr cost! For people who haven't experienced alpine environments I would say this a must do with a drink in the lovely mountain hut on the top! Thoroughly recommended!

Red Bull's World HQ is located in a charming lakeside village of Fuschl Am See....14 miles outside of Salzburg. Population 1,500. The Corporate Office Architecture is Spectacular-from the stampeding bulls by the lake and fountain-to the round shaped spheres that house marketing etc.Every detail is incredibly well thought out.It is a wonderful combination of ascetics and functionality.The Corporate Office accommodates 200+ employees.You will see many of them running before work,at lunchtime,along the lake or biking into the majestic Mountains.Must be the water, the pure air....or the Red Bull ;)))
