I loved this place. I went with a study abroad group and the people here are very friendly, the meals are delicious, and the views offered are outstanding! The sand dunes were beautiful (and fun to roll down), but the sunset is only to be rivaled by the stars at night. Bring warm clothes for the night though!

Mustapha and his crew at enchanted Morocco tours were nothing short of spectacular hosts. From start to finish, each person we came in contact with was reliable, professional, knowledgeable, and extremely hospitable. Over the course of our 8 day tour around the country, we came to consider them family. Mustapha took great care of us (especially my friend's and my mothers, who he looked after as if they were his own), with kindness and patience, answered our endless questions, kept us laughing, and made sure we were always comfortable and safe. He was thoughtful in his planning and created an itinerary full of activities we will never forget. EMT was an all around delightful company to work with and I would recommend them to anyone. Thank you Mustapha for the trip of a lifetime. I can't wait to come back for more desert adventures!

Merzouga Desert

We had been travelling through Morocco for several days visiting various cities, towns villages and really appreciating the culture and scenic wonders of Morocco. The highlight of our trip materialized when we approached the town of Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbe sand dunes where an amazing adventure began starting with our trek to our camp site riding on camels. The camp site was not far but seemed forever whilst travelling via dromedaries. The sand dunes seem endless, the desert sounds almost non existing when you travel away from town. Beautiful sunset, time to reflect and just gaze out into the open desert. Breathtaking...

The camel trek and overnight desert stay was a completely unique part of our trip to Morocco. Our Moroccan odyssey would not have been complete without it! It was really fun to see the camels gathered next to our riad, mount our camels, and set off across the desert in a "caravan" of maybe 10 camels tied together, each of us wearing a scarf wrapped in the traditional manner around our heads (I loved learning how to wrap the scarf!). Our camel guide Ahmed was WONDERFUL. He was extremely caring, his English was astounding (he said he had just picked it up talking with visitors!), and he worked incredibly hard taking care of the camels, cooking and serving our dinner, and taking care of the camp. We climbed a sand dune to watch the sun set. The sand was amazingly silky and cool. I've never felt sand like that before. After the sun set, we saw the Milky Way and more stars than I've seen in the United States in decades. Then the moon rose! My single regret is that I didn't go when Ahmed led a few people on a walk across the dunes in the moonlight. If you have the chance, you should take that moonlight walk! We ate Ahmed's tagine sitting on rugs around small tables set in the middle of the circle of tents, lit by lanterns.
This was a wonderful experience that felt more authentic than a "luxury camp," with tents made of rugs and (I think) very heavy felt. We slept on comfortable mattresses with plenty of warm covers. An unforgettable experience! This beautiful land must be preserved and protected, with its wonderful, hospitable people.
