This is just a really fun and relaxing place for the entire family. It's in the city, but gives you a feelimmg like you are out and away from the city and people. een there a few times abd came hpme so relaxed. Good times for everyone.

What an interesting attraction in the tiny town of Calimesa. A ‘cuckoo’ clock with full human sized figures that come out to trumpet the arrival of the king and queen who come out to announce the time. It is well done and so cute. My wife and her sister were smitten by the event, claiming it was a true highlight of the day and more. They carried on and on and on, It is fun , and worth a stop. The clock show is at 7, 9, 11, 1, 3 and 5. See the sign I posted. Enjoy this oddity of a tiny town.

This isn't the Beaumont you are thinking of, as it is above the town in an area of open fields and horses. The museum is full of furniture so special it qualifies as art. It is a lovely stop on your way through the pass, to or from Palm Springs or beyond. They often have special events so check their website for an event that would make your stop even more meaningful.

Great place to shop for shoes. They have pretty much everything you could want. Every style, size and price range imaginable. And if you like a real bargain and have the time to look, the clearance racks have really good bargains. For sure the place to go for shoes.

This is the second time I get a Christmas tree at Greenspot Farms. The prices are reasonable. The main reason I like this farm is because it had not been exploited yet. You can go to a bigger place like Live Oak Canyon but with all the distractions they have there for the kids like games, jumpers and food it takes away from the whole idea of getting a Christmas tree, plus you end up spending a great deal more money. Greenspot is fairly big, lots of trees, a fire pit and a huge pull down screen where a Christmas movie was being played. Overall a great experience and hopefully if will remain charming for a long time.

Snow line is a fun orchard to visit. You specifically have to try their apple cider mini donuts which they make in front of you!
Well they offer wine tasting, last time I tried the wine it was not very good. However maybe they've gotten better. Their apple cider is ridiculously expensive… But apparently that's an Oak Glen thing... I'm originally from New England we are top notch apple cider is about five dollars a gallon. The rest of the story is fun to look at. Nothing too exciting, but worth the stop. Again... the donuts are a MUST!!!

I have been going to the Redlands Bowl for over 18 years and it has become a rich family tradition. We go to the Summer Music Festival all summer long at the Bowl. Last summer I only missed one show and that's because it rained and I didn't want to go to the other venue. The entertainment is top-notch and would probably cost you anywhere from $25 to $50 in other venues. Oh yeah, did I mention the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival is free!? This makes it a perfect venue to take my family of seven.
Yes, it is free, though they do pass around a free will offering during intermission. Obviously, they also accept donations so please check out their website. Parking is at a premium, so you might want to go at least a half hour to an hour early and park just north of the bowl across the street from the post office. There is also parking in the old Redlands Mall parking lot, also north of the Bowl. For those with difficulty walking, they will let you get a little closer to park or be dropped off.
The seating is bench-style and there really are no bad seats, though you may want a blanket or pillow to soften the seat a bit. Some people choose to bring lawn chairs or blankets and sit on the sides or the very back. Many people bring food, and sometimes beer or wine. Drinking is not necessarily allowed (open container) but the crowd sort of polices itself and keeps the wine bottles on the down low. It's the worst kept secret.
Overall, it is great family fun in a safe environment. I hope to go for years and years. Here are a few of the shows we've seen over the years: Bollywood Spectacular, Rhythmic Circus, Riders in the Sky, Modern Gentlemen, Celtic Spring, Tarzan, Oklahoma, California Guitar Trio, The Voetberg Family Band, and much, much more!

This is the only museum dedicated to Lincoln west of the Mississippi and a great resource for historians doing research. It's also a great place for visitors to become more acquainted with Lincoln's life and Civil War history. Docents are available to give short tours and explanations. One treasured artifact is an original Norman Rockwell painting donated by the artist himself. A must-see in the Inland Empire!

For $45.00 it is worth the trip to Oak Valley. The course has seen better days with fairways rough, the greens however were in good shape and if you are a high handicapper the course is wide and pretty forgiving. We went with a large group so needed a place that met everyone's budget but was also able to give us a couple of tee times together. Never a good sign!! WE pretty much had the course to ourselves. The weather was interesting, raining and cold, while it was sunny and warm to the East. Course is closer to the mountains so I understand it is in a weather micro-climate. Check the forecast and bring warmer gear, a lot of our group missed the "Memo" about he weather and were under dressed, which seems impossible in March in the area. Staff were friendly, helpful with advise and the food in the restaurant decent.

We made a quick detour to Oak Glen on our way to Palm Springs. It was at least 25 degrees cooler there! You're in the foothills, but there's no mountain driving to do. The preserve has easy walking paths to more difficult trails. Even in the summer it was mostly shaded and green, especially following the Spring Trail. Many native flowers still blooming in July! Great views, informative signs for the many, many native plants. They sell food and have a shop selling apple cider, pie, apple butter, etc. I knew it was popular for Fall apple picking, but it's also a great place to get away from the heat.
