Booked my wife and 2 girls (11 and 9) for a lesson at Star Stables having seen previous recommendations. I booked in advance to make sure they could definitely go. Kirsteen was very friendly and welcoming from the outset and clearly very passionate about horses. The girls loved the ride out around the local lanes and we will definitely be back next year. Thanks again.

Brora Heritage Centre

Come and see our small museum, set beautifully overlooking the River Brora and the Moray Firth. Go down our Coal Mine reconstruction. Taste real Brora salt. Discover our Electric City. Roam with Dinosaurs. Children's activity area. Fresh Coffee/Tea and snacks.

We have visited this fantastic little (free) museum a few times since Clyne Heritage Society took on its management a few years ago. It's a treasure trove of exhibits and information on the history of Brora and the surrounding area. Absolutely fascinating for adults and children alike. Whether you have a connection with the area or are just passing through, it is well worth a visit. The work that Clyne Heritage Society has done over the last decade to document local history is impressive, as are their plans to develop a disused building to the north end of the village on the A9 as the museum's new home from 2020. This is a community-led group that has clearly achieved great things already and there is much more to come. Those driving through the village need to keep a sharp eye out for the sign near the bridge over the River Brora. The centre is a very short drive off the beaten track of the NC500. A friendly, well-informed welcome - and coffee - awaits.

Clynelish Distillery

Clynelish proudly serves as one of the Four Corners distilleries of Johnnie Walker. We distil the rich Highland Malt that is enjoyed around the world on its own and as a vital component of Johnnie Walker whiskies. Discover the mysterious and hidden spirit of our coastal Sutherland home, where we create our rich, waxy whisky, carrying notes of tropical fruit and honey. Clynelish Distillery is located on the A9 at the popular coastal holiday town of Brora, Sutherland, around one hour north of Inverness. With beautiful views of the North Sea and the hills to the north - where the Clynemilton burn runs over seams of gold in the rock. With this water, Clynelish distillery produces a fruity, waxy, slightly smoky single malt.

We were thoroughly looked after at Clynelish - our penultimate distillery on our Classic Malts Adventure! The ladies went above and beyond even making us cups of coffee before our tour began. Jess was very personable with a great knowledge and passion for the history of Clynelish and Brora! We loved it - thank you xxx

Brora Golf Course

A historic golf course located on hilly terrain.

Fabulous course, fabulous setting and wonderful company. We played in the Links Open September 2020 and the club and members couldn't have been more welcoming. We loved it so much we're looking at joining as Country members for next year. We live at the opposite end of the UK but would happily drive the 653 miles for another week or two of golf on this wonderful course.

Brora Golf Club

Reviewed By StAnnes1983 - Lytham St Anne's, United Kingdom

I had the chance to play the course on the twilight rate one sunny evening in August. It is a beautiful setting and a good test of golf. The greens are surrounded by electric fences to keep the cattle off but they didn’t cause me any issues. It’s good value at 50 pounds but not sure it is worth the £90 daily rate.
