This 20 acre coastal preserve is a destination you don’t want to miss! Gumbo Limbo Nature Center is surrounded by a rare remnant of tropical hardwood hammock, located on a barrier island in Boca Raton. Take a stroll through the butterfly garden, where many species of wild butterflies can be seen year-round. Walk the Ashley Trail and relax in the authentic Chiki overlooking the Intracoastal. FAU Stadium

Reviewed By mRoss316 - Boca Raton, United States

I know a lot of students who attend FAU and for the longest time they would not stop talking about the football games. So, last October, I finally decided to attend a game. I attended the FAU vs. Old Dominion game on October 26, 2019, and ever since, I have been eager to attend another game. The atmosphere, especially at a smaller school like FAU, is one that is relatively active and always engaged considering there aren't enough people that attend to fill the stadium, plus, it was especially fun because FAU ended up beating Old Dominion, 41-3, so there was plenty of celebration in between touchdowns, field goals, interceptions, and fumbles. FAU has an extremely friendly fan base with an "everybody knows your name" feel to sitting in the stands and interacting with the other fans. I would say the stadium on gameday is relatively family-friendly where as the students who are there to party, separate themselves to a specific tailgating area outside of the stadium so that families with children can also have their own area free of recklessness. The best part is that the tickets to attend the game are realtively cheap compared to the price you would have to pay to attend a game at bigger Florida schools like UF and FSU. So, not only can you enjoy yourself, but a decent price too. Overall, I would say that it was worth my time and money to attend a game at FAU Stadium and I can't wait until the pandemic clears and I can be one of many fans to attend the first game back!

Sugar Sand Park

Sugar Sand Park features the Community Center, which houses the Children's Science Explorium and the Willow Theatre; and the Field House, which features an indoor gymnasium. Developed by the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District and operated by the City of Boca Raton, this 132-acre park continues its commitment to enhance the role of recreation and culture for residents and visitors alike. Sugar Sand Park is open 365 days a year - the Community Center and Children's Science Explorium are closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Built to American Society for Testing & Materials standards, the Science Playground is strong and safe, with a soft, impact-attenuating ground surface. This surface is also the key to the wayfinding feature, allowing parents and children to pinpoint their exact location within the playground through identifying markings. The inclusive playground features new swings, slides, and an expanded climbing structure that allows for greater access to people of all ages and abilities, and greater visibility for parents and children alike. The updated interactive water feature showcases a variety of sea creatures, and a new train station-themed toddler play area has been added.
