You will want to reserve your spot on the Grand Tour boat tour with the Apostle Islands Cruises as that is the only way to see these caves other than a kayaking tour. Worth the money.

This was just a wonderful experience. The tent is at the bottom of a ski hill and is staffed by volunteers. There are shops, food, ice cream and beer tents on the grounds. Our show was an Opry outlaw presentation. The musicians were just amazing. They had the audience engaged and on our feet by the end. Just a must do at a great price.

Very interesting museum with all the history of this tiny island. Kids also love it. Laid out very nice to appeal to everyone.

A cool stroll through history, with some historic submarines and allot of historical info. Boat tours are available.

They rent bicycles and mopeds. We rented bicycles, which were in good shape. They give you a helmet if you want one. They give you a bike route map and explain different options. We started out on the main road (Middle Road) toward Big Bay State Park, but we found it boring and there was a lot of car and truck traffic. Also, despite the bright sunny day, the road was dark due to shadows cast by tall trees. We abandoned the plan to go to Big Bay State Park, turned right on South Shore Drive, and followed it around. The scenery was more varied, and we could see the water through the trees. Only one car passed us on that whole stretch of road. When we stopped to drink water or just look around, the silence felt otherworldly, almost holy. Turning right again at Old Fort Road was the way back into town, but before doing that, we took a short detour on a dirt road down to a tiny beach by the water. This route took us only one-and-a-half hours, including our short beach walk, so if you want a more challenging ride, maybe the Big Bay State Park round trip would be more to your liking.

Majestic, raw and beautiful...We used Trek and Triail to kayak with and it was amazing and exciting...afterwards we hiked the trail that is left as natural as possible with just enough maintenance and bridges and paths added to make it accessible without loosing
the raw feel of the caves. The hike itself is beautiful and peaceful with some athletic aspects to it but the views of the caves from above were amazing. A must see while in Bayfield Area.

We needed a parking place and we found it here at Joni’s beach, right in front of the house of our kayak instructor. We enjoyed the flowers and relaxed on the bench, watching the waves. We stopped after visiting Applefest and enjoyed the samples of apples and so much more. The new Merlot were so good, we had to buy a bag! The view from the top of the Sears catalog barn is indeed Superior!

We were a week early for blueberries and raspberries in Bayfield County. Found that out trying to find an orchard to pick berries. Most, in fact, had very little in the shelves for retail. Nonetheless, our favorite was Blue Vista Farm. Among those actually open, Blue Vista is quiet and quaint. The shop in the picturesque barn has been recently cleaned out and remodeled. Although there was not much to see there, by the time you read this and head over, I expect it to be full and it will be charming. We met the manager who found us to show us pictures of the almost-ripe raspberries in the field. We could see the green blueberries on the bush from our car and it looks like a fine crop coming. He had such a passion for the farm and the area, it was a delight to visit with him and we are pleased to encourage you to make Blue Vista an orchard stop on your trip to Bayfield.

This fun shop is located across from the Egg Toss Restaurant. I was really impressed with the reasonably priced inventory of many artisan items. The beautiful bowls really caught my eye. These are one of a kind items and would make wonderful souvenirs or gifts to bring back. Highly recommend stopping in!
