ST WOLFGANG GOLF COURSE UTTLAU designed by Kurt Rossknecht Peace and quiet over the hills surrounding the small village of Uttlau near Bad Griesbach, 18 holes in enchanting nature - this is a truly excellent place to golf. This course unites all of the aspects that make playing golf so appealing. The St Wolfgang Golf Course Uttlau has something to offer every golfer. Take a bit of flat land, a couple of hills (not too high, yet with a lovely view of the countryside) add a splash of water and decorate it all with fruit trees and a small village at the centre. In a countryside much like an idyllic Bavarian post card, the golf course architect Kurt Rossknecht beautifully integrated the course into its surroundings. The village remains in view with its Uttlau Estate where its gorgeous courtyard awaits for a welcome celebration after playing a round. However, there are a diverse 18 holes to be played before the courtyard becomes relevant. Sportsmanship and fair play were the driving forces behind the design. Flat holes, sloped fairways, long shots into the valley and water hazards - the course beautifully unites them all. Extensive greens that require a certain talent in putting also distinguish the course. Take in the beautiful view of the rolling countryside - however without forgetting to play to par, for example on hole 12 with its par 5 where you drive the ball from the highest point of the course. The final hole (also an interesting par 5) will take you right back to Uttlau - alongside its church, cemetery and estate. By the end of the round, you too will understand why this area is so often called the "Bavarian Tuscany".
If you visit Bad Griesbach area and like golf, this place is worth visiting. Height differences are enormous in many fairways. Was in good shape already early autumn 2017.

AUDI GOLF COURSE designed by Bernhard Langer The youngest of our championship courses, which is located right next to the Beckenbauer Golf Course in Penning, is also a creation by Germany’s world-class golfer Bernhard Langer. He integrated the completely level fairways into the meadow landscape of the Rott. The older existing trees give the course its mature character and natural charm. The course (par 71) in Penning is completely flat and its approximately 65 hectare exude a long-established flair due to the majestic tress that adorn the course. Although it is located right beside the Beckenbauer Golf Course, these two first-class courses are indeed different but share the fact that they are challenging yet fair courses for all skill levels. As an example, you will not find as many side flood plains on this course. The fairways also flow more with the Rottal landscape. The Audi Golf Course is given a special touch by the often extreme contouring of the fairways. In addition to a classic 90° dogleg, the 13th hole is particularly interesting. The 145 metre long par 3 has its green on a peninsula. It’s a spectacular but manageable drive to the flag. A concluding challenge is presented by the 18th hole – a long par 4 with a difficult last shot over the water to a well-protected green.
This course is designed by Bernhard Langer. Nice to play. Quite flat but not easy in any ways. Two courses and nice gutschof in the same courtyard.

I went to this thermal-baths wellness spa on a drizzly weekday, which is probably the only time I would go since I'm not so into crowds, especially at swimming pools. It was a very pleasurable visit. The facility is clean and well-organized, in keeping with the German style. There are two facilities, one where you wear a swimsuit, and one where you don't (the Vitarium). We went to the one where you do. There are multiple pools labeled with different temperatures, deck chairs and quiet rooms for lazing about or Reading a book, steam rooms and sauna (for extra $), and restaurant. The outdoor pools are the best, and were a pleasure even in the rain. There is a swim through from the indoor to the outdoor side of a moderately warm pool, a hot whirlpool, and large shallow warm pool with a delightful massaging waterfall, a pair of small cold/hot pools to shock your system with, and a large cool lap pool. Both cement and grassy areas outside to sit. I can imagine the place can get crowded on a weekend, but during the week we were two of perhaps a couple dozen people, and some of the few who used the outdoor area in the light rain. (You're gonna get wet anyway, right?)

I went there like seven times last year and for 2016 I got a "Jahreskarte" - a whole year ticket. I just love it here. You can feed the animals and pet them and the experiance is allways different as there are allways different animals active. Once you feed the racoons, once you see the lynx, once come the ponies and want to cuddle....allways something new. Great for families with kids but I enjoy it as an adult also. There is also a small hut with some food and drinks for reasonable prices.

This course offers everything a good golf course needs along with the signature feel of a course created by Germany’s world-class golfer Bernhard Langer. The 18-holes in Brunnwies were the first to be designed by Bernhard Langer in Bad Griesbach. The result: one of the top 20 courses in Europe (“Golf World England“). This course challenges good golfers, yet is still suitable for all skill levels – this applies to all of the championship courses at the golf resort, and most especially to the Brunnwies Golf Course. The countryside is charming all on its own as it offers a beautiful view of the Lower Bavarian woods. It comes as no surprise that the Rottal and its surrounding hill country are often referred to as “The Bavarian Tuscany”. Playing an 18-hole round on the Brunnwies course proves that this name is indeed justified. As for the athletic factor, the course impresses not only with how meticulously it has been integrated into the countryside, but also with its hand-mown and often heavily contoured greens, as is the case with hole 11. On this hole, the flag may be placed at three different levels. Being a master at putting is more essential for a good score on this course than on any of the rest. Brunnwies is additionally characterised by extensive rough where the ball can most often be found and played. Those able to forgive the extra shot will get to enjoy the nature beyond the fairways. The slightly contoured course features two drawn-out slopes at hole 5 and hole 13. The latter is immediately followed by an interesting par 3: 150 metres downhill to a green that is well protected by water. The exciting finale is offered by a par 4: a dogleg which power hitters can significantly shorten with a perfect drive to get the ball almost right onto the green. Do beware: trees and an out of bounds line often lead to disillusionment. Those who opt for a conventional approach will be able to set their sights on the Brunnwies Estate and its lovely Terrace. The green happens to be located right below the Terrace. You can rest assured that the guests already enjoying après golf will be watching.
We stopped again with my wife at Hartl golf resort. We already played Uttlau and F. Beckenbauer. Brunnwies golf course is getting from us the highest rating so far. Well placed in the country side. Greens and fairways top quality. It is hilly but pleasant to walk. With the stay directly at Gutshof you can get fee discount and the whole logistic is than simple. We plan to come back.

Golf at it's finest. Amazing views of the eastern Alps, challenging holes. I haven't played a course this beautiful in a long time. If you stay in an affiliated hotel, there is a 25% discount on the green fee, twighlight starts at 3pm. Discount does not apply to carts. I highly recommend renting carts, the holes are long and steep. Tee time in advance neccessary.

Thermal Baths with 3000 square metres of thermal water surface across 19 different basins and pools at water temperatures between 27 and 40 centigrades. Open 365 days a year (366 days on leap years!). Four indoor thermal water swimming pools (combined length of 120 metres) each flowing at different speeds: the sulphur-gas bath, the two outdoor swimming pools, the cold-warm bath or the new “Pool of Attractions.”
it was my fourth visit in Bad Fussing, Europa therme. Comparing to Austria are tickets cheaper and the spa is bigger, so price / quality is perfect. Comparing to Hungary (Gyor) is the staff more friendly, better environmet, seems like maintenance is better in Germany, so I would always go here if I have a choice. This visit was little bit special, there was a fire alarm during our visit, sauna was on fire! Stressfull situation I must say. My message to the management is: Train your staff better for such a situation, broadcast information to the visitors, not everyone can speak german - there is a lot of visitors from CZ, SK,HU and other countries. We did not know what is going on, after seeing fire from sauna window it was clear... But staff was very chaotic, in case of bigger fire this may lead to injuries and in worst cases you know what...

Consigliatissimo
