Just returned home from an evening at Barleens Dinner Show. The food was delicious,
the service excellent, and the musicians/singers are multi-talented. It was "Season's Best 2017-2018, and they definitely delivered on this title.

A wonderful entertaining evening so very enjoyable, and worth the money. Saturday will be the last show for the Season, but definitely worth seeing !!

This trail started easy... gonna call that Level 1. From there to a Level 2, intermediate hike. Only did the first mile. Someone coming down said we were only halfway and the rest was steep... I'm thinking Level 3 lol. Going to try again to get to the top. Great hike for me. If you're in shape, it's probably a decent 2 mile uphill workout. Very pretty!

We enjoyed the boat ride but basically you see the same beauty going back into the canyon as you come back. We do love the scenery of this majestic scenery--just going driving would have been good enough for me It was packed though-so people do enjoy it.

The incredibly maintained condition of this course, along with the magnificent views that occur on both 9's, created one of the best golf experiences of our lives (and we travel for golf A LOT!). This course is a must-play for golf enthusiasts that travel in this area of Arizona. Well worth the trip from the Scottsdale area.

Lost Dutchman State Park

Named after the fabled lost gold mine, Lost Dutchman State Park is located in the Sonoran Desert, 40 miles east of Phoenix. Several trails lead from the park into the Superstition Wilderness and surrounding Tonto National Forest. Take a stroll along the Native Plant Trail or hike the challenging Siphon Draw Trail to the top of the Flatiron. Depending on the year's rainfall, you might be treated to a carpet of desert wildflowers in the spring. Enjoy a weekend of camping and experience native wildlife including mule deer, coyote, javelina and jackrabbit. New for 2014! A four mile Mountain Bike Loop Trail has opened at the park -- this is a great way to enjoy the park's beauty! The park offers a variety of hiking trails, nature trails, picnic facilities, 134 campsites, a dump station, restrooms, showers, and group use areas. The visitor center sells maps and other publications. Before you hike, be prepared with enough water and proper footwear as the trails are steep and challenging.

We did a short, leisurely walk. We hadn't planned on doing a hike. We just wanted to drive out there. It was absolutely stunning, but it was totally ruined by VERY RUDE PEOPLE not cleaning up after their dogs!! Some would pick up, but then leave the bags behind! We must have seen at least 10 piles. We were so very disappointed. Here we are in God's country & people have to ruin it for everyone else. I'm a huge dog lover, but I always pick up after my dog.

We like the Cat and Power mountain hikes. Both are fairly easy hikes with lots of cactus. Trails are usually not very crowded but you May share the trail with horseback riders or bikes. Good family hikes. Free parking. Some restrooms depending on where you park.

We have been here on other trips to Arizona and we love this course. The scenery is beautiful;the course is fun and can be challenging; the green fees ( which include cart and range balls) very reasonable and the staff are great. So, it might be a little less cared for than other courses and the unlimited free range balls were a little worn but the fact that you are golfing in the desert with great views, washes and wildlife make up for it. There are no houses lining the fairways like so many affordable courses in Arizona.

I am an experienced horse rider and went on the most amazing experience. I cannot say enough good things. Josh was our guide for an all day ride and he was very knowledgeable regarding the mountains and the folklore. He has written a book and has been in the area for numerous years. He also paired the horses up with the experience of the rider. Took his time riding and talking to us. The lunch that they packed for the all day ride was great too. I would highly recommend this riding stable to anyone. Don't miss this if you are a horse person or want to know more about the area mountains.
