Eje Cafetero (Zona Cafetera)

Reviewed By Colombia-road-travel - Medellin, Colombia

I have driven all through this magnificent area a number of times, you must behold at least once. The landscape, the rolling hills, the Cauca Valley, the nature, the hiking, the coffee farms and the people, just go and see it and experience it for yourself. I have been through the whole area, back and forth, a number of times in my car as I always make it a point to "stop and smell the roses" as they say on my travels from my home in Medellin to Cali and into Ecuador and also Neiva to the south and so too on my return to my home in Medellin. You will enjoy as I and countless other have!

As a family of four (my husband and our two adult daughters) we visited this exhibition in December 2017 and were very impressed. It's an excellent and vast collection of various means of transportation worth spending an afternoon or even a day to look at it closely. We are very grateful to Mr. Jose Guillermo Pardo for his passionate and detailed tour and historical knowledge. It is this type of exhibits that make me very proud of my hometown, Cali. Keep up the excellent work and I hope the city of Cali can provide additional funds to expand the exhibition to fit more airplanes and trains.

Didn't actually enter this church, only walked around it. There are some great city views from here AND if you behind the church there is this astonishingly beautiful tree that has the majority of it's roots growing above ground.

Reserva Natural Nirvana

Reviewed By judyportlock - Hewlett, United States

The reserve sits on a mountain that was once a coffee plantation. The entire mountain has been transformed into a 2 hour nature walk among waterfalls, lovely ponds, native flora and fauna and spectacular views. The path is expertly designed so it snakes up a serpent like winding among lush greenery and exotic native bushes, trees, and flowers. Bamboo hand rails and well maintained steps are strategically place to help with the really steep parts. There are two historical structures along the way: a coffee been receiving station and a caretakers cottage at the peak. Every view is a photo stop! The hike ends with a delightful butterfly enclosure housing 100's of butterfly and more water effects and an restaurant quietly perfect sett among more waterfalls and lush exotic greenery. We had a fruit and herb tea like nothing we had ever had before. Wonderful!
