We booked very spontaneously two days before our trip, but all communication worked very well. Our driver Juma picked us up at the hotel and we had a short drive to Tsavo East. We had a good and fun time, he is very polite and an even better driver! Very nice game drives in Tsavo (afternoon and morning) and a pleasant stay at the red elephant lodge. Very friendly staff and tasty food! After a morning game drive we headed to Amboseli to the AA Lodge. Another game drive in the afternoon, and a nice dinner. Very nice houses to stay with a beautiful view onto the Killimanjaro, can only recommend. Unfortunately on our third day we had a lot of rain during the night, so the drive was a bit delayed. Nevertheless, it turned out to be a beautiful day and with Juma's driving skills & park knowledge, we managed to reach all the fancy spots and watch the wild animals. On the last day, he drove us savely to Nairobi (picked up in Mombasa, +50$ extra) to our hotel. Thank you Juma and Steve for the experience!

Bongo Safari- Day Tour

Reviewed By frednic_11 - Grenoble, France

We used the services of Bongo Safaris for our family visit in Southern Kenya late October 2018. It is a bit by chance that we came across their web site and tours proposal. I must admit I was a bit concerned at first that they are not registered with the Kenya association of Tour operators. The Lonely Planet guide advises company that are member of KATO. There can also be a question of trust : one makes a several thousand USD bank transfer before meeting anybody in the flesh, and there is always a small concern that no one shows up at the airport to pick you up, or that the agreed program is not fulfilled. However, in the end everything turned out to be fine and even beyond expectations. Starting from one of their standard tour, Mr Anderson Bongo and I had quite a few exchanges over several months to customize the tour and accommodations. In the end we spent 6 days/5 nights in Lake Bogoria / Maasai Mara / Amboseli with a drop off in Diani. Bongo Safaris also organized for us a day dhow trip to Wasini island, and drop off at Mombasa airport for our flight back to Nairobi. Overall we really appreciated the kindness & professionalism of Anderson Bongo & his staff : be it for the preparation of the trip, during the trip, and even after completion. A special thanks to our guide cum driver Moses, who allowed us to make the most of our stay in the National Parks, displaying its excellent ability to spot animals. Overall a very satisfactory experience with Bongo safaris, which we happily recommend. With hindsight, my advises to others planning a similar trip would be to consider • a compromise between seeing more locations / spending too long on the road (which can be tiring for children..and consequently for their parents) -> not sure I would recommend going as we did to Lake Bogoria (which was our own choice) for few flamingos spotting • if going from NPs to the Coast to use the recent ‘express’ (100 KM/h) train from Nairobi to Mombasa from Voi (excellent suggestion during the trip by Bongo Safaris) • be aware (even if it may seems obvious) that going to Kenya is not going to a European resort : wild animals do not show up at set times, traffic incidents can happen… • consider the order in which you visit NP : if Maasai Mara is first, risk is (with children) that subsequent NP give the feeling it’s a less thrilling repeat
