A Swiss friend admitted that it was just as stunning as the mountains in Switzerland, which is a big admission. Great for trekking and seeing amazing views across the mointain peaks of the 'Cursed Mountains' as they are called in Albanian (Bjeshkët e Nemuna). Very friendly locals and great prices.

Bear Sanctuary Prishtina & Thesaret e Natyres

For many years, there was no law against keeping brown bears in Kosovo. All privately kept brown bears lived in small cages at restaurants and were used to attract visitors. In November 2010, when it became illegal to keep bears privately, FOUR PAWS reacted immediately, offering the government support in finding a species-appropriate home for these “restaurant bears”. Currently at BEAR SANCTUARY Prishtina live 19 bears all rescued from captivity. Here they have plenty of space, ponds and proper meals, and most of all, they are living in harmony with each other. May 2018 was another important month for the sanctuary, as we celebrated the grand opening of the Environmental Education Centre “Thesaret e Natyrës”. This new centre offers various educational exhibitions/ games, souvenir shop, seminar rooms and a nice bistro to freshen up with drinks or enjoy a nice vegetarian or vegan meal.

We walked through the market and simply turned up at the museum, the guide introduced himself as we walked up to the door and just started a tour! I think he will just show people around as/when they turn up. Anyway it was very interesting to be shown around and have an explanation of life as it was. The enthusiasm was much appreciated and the cost is free if you wish but donations are appreciated.

A bit off the center of Pristina, but well worth a taxi trip! We paid total 5e/one way trip. You can get taxi very easily when you come back to city, there is always someone coming with a taxi. We didn't have to wait eve 5 minutes. Nice shops and restaurants! I'm vegetarian and did not go hungry :) We also visited Viva Fresh Market next to Albi mall. If you are not in a hurry I think it is worth going! It's a big grocery shop with some clothes and other stuff :)

There are so many things to enjoy at Germia Park, it encourages social interaction and physical activities! Fresh air can really help you feel better! This park is an incredible choice, away from stress!
