Cathedrale Notre Dame de Evreux

This is a really lovely Cathedral with amazing ironwork and a new organ all in a setting with misericords and beautiful stonework. Considering how much damage it took in WW2 it is a must see, and right next door to a gem of a museum and art gallery housed in the Bishop's Palace with a car park right behind both . Well worth a visit.

The Clos Normand - Fondation Claude Monet

We visited these gardens in Ocober, and I was was not sure if we were going to be able experience the beauty of the gardens that I had read about. Despite the time of year, there were many beautiful flowers. Monet designed the-gardent to be beautiful year round. There were only a few waterlilies in bloom, but the flowers surrounding the pond provided a perfect "frame" for my many photos. I would like to return each season to experience this artists living picture!

Chateau de Beaumesnil

Very quiet, serene and charming place. It literally offers you to stay alone with the history and feel the old spirit. It is a good place for family/couple visits. Caramel cookings and children workshops are a nice (and tasty!) adding to the visit. It's very important to come in the right moment with good weather (not always in Normandy) to enjoy the gardens and the park. In that case, this place is worth to spend in the whole day.

Musee des Traditions Et Arts Normands -

The Martainville castle The castle, built in 1485 by Jacques the first of Martainville, is one of the rare examples of the first Renaissance architecture in Normandy. It has been keeping its original inside arrangement. The visit of the castle can be completed with a visit of the dovecot, the bread oven and other outside annexes. The museum of traditions and arts of Normandy installed in the castle shows a notable collection of regional furniture from the Renaissance and the 19th century. The ethnographic section for Normandy is a reconstitution of farms made with objects and testimonies of the life in the 18th and 19th centuries. The last floor presents the large collection of Norman headdresses, costumes and jewels, and traditional music instruments. The museum has temporary exhibitions every year. Since 2014, a Renaissance garden was created in the rear side of the castle.
