The 10 Best Things to do Good for Couples in Mongolia, Mongolia

September 23, 2021 Sachiko Swiger

Mongolia /mɒŋˈɡoʊliə/ ( listen) (Monggol Ulus in Mongolian; Монгол Улс in Mongolian Cyrillic) is a landlocked unitary sovereign state in East Asia. Its area is roughly equivalent with the historical territory of Outer Mongolia, and that term is sometimes used to refer to the current state. It is sandwiched between China to the south and Russia to the north. Mongolia does not share a border with Kazakhstan, although only 37 kilometres (23 mi) separates them.

Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park

Reviewed By Kai_Wah - Malaysia, null

This national park is a must for nature lovers when traveling to Mongolia. We did a road trip from Ulaanbaatar which was a long journey with bumpy road. But the scenery and countless sights of animals such as camels, horses, goats, cattle, etc along the journey makes the whole trip well-worth it. The national park covers these areas with different beauty of natures: 1) Yol Valley - where is good for 1-3 hours of hiking to enjoy the natural gorge with some wild animals sighted, such as yaks, wild rabbits, ibex, eagles, etc 2) Khongor Els - where is the 2nd largest sand dunes in the world. Climbing the sand dunes and sitting on top of the sand dune to watch the sunset is one of the most unforgettable experiences we have during our trip. 3) Baganzag - where is also called the Flaming Cliffs as the Cliffs look like they are on fire especially during sunset. Fossils of dinosaurs were found here at this site. Minimum of 3 days to stay at this national park to complete the above-stated 3 main highlights in this region. The best way to appreciate these nature is to hire local tour guide and driver for the hassle-free experience where you can completely immerse into the wonder of natures!!!

Mary & Martha Mongolia

Fair & Ethicalr - supporting about 150 Mongolian & ethnic Kazakh artisans from all over Mongolia. From the most simple product to the most high end QUALITY is key. Artisans and Mary & Martha make a sustainable living and customers buy quality, useful products at reasonable prices. We are the only shop that buys all its products before we sell because we want to be fair to artisans and we believe in the products - all other shops pay artisans if their products sell. There are quality, fairly-priced souvenirs both large and small, all skilfully handcrafted by local artisans, so by purchasing their goods, you are really helping to support and empower the local community. I left with a stunningly elegant bag made by a Kazakh artisan and a gorgeously colourful zip pouch upcycled from decorative wall hangings. I also had the most wonderful conversation with the founder/owner Irene and learned a lot from her, and found the rest of the staff all very beautiful and kind. My visit to Mary & Martha truly left a smile on my face, and I could not recommend them highly enough.
