6 months back a small team from Rethymno we walked throw the gorge inside the river. The landscape is amazing and the palm trees as you approach the beach make the place tropical.

Paraschakis Olive Oil - Crete

Visitors have the opportunity to see three generations of olive oil production.The old olive mill that was run with a donkey , a mill that was run on a diesel machine and of course the machinery that our family is using now. Visitors can also taste and buy olive oil from our family's production.All visitors have a guided tour and a taste of the olive oil and raki free of charge. The Paraschakis Family Olive Oil Factory is open every day from 9:00 to 18:00 except Sunday. From the 5th of April to the 10th of April 2019 we will be closed.

Great farm. The owner was super nice and gave our group an interesting tour on historical and modern olive oil production. We had a small oil tasting. The product is of exceptional quality and very reasonably priced. A must stop when traveling the area.

When you are in Rethymno, Crete, do not miss this wonderful trove of musical treasures and knowledge. The exhibition of musical instruments, all beautifully hand-made is a great introduction to Cretan music. The generous hospitality included professional explanations and a demonstration. We highly recommend a visit.

Never had an interest in reptiles...until I went here, what an amazing place. The owner is such a nice guy who describes the reptiles and encourages hands on, absolutely enjoyable & highly recommended .. now do I want a pet Gecko or Bearded dragon ????

An amazing 13th-century monastery with a long history and an important role in the revolution against Turks.Near the villages of Amnatos, Eleftherna and Margarites. It has an excellent museum, a two-aisled church, and a huge outdoor parking space.UNESCO has designated the Arcadian Monastery as a European Monument of Freedom.

6. 9. 2020 Breathtaking, adventurous hike through the canyon, the bottom of a dry river. 3 km of active movement through rugged terrain, where you climb some sections of rocks using ropes and ladders. Great. We, the amateurs, did it too. There is no other way back than to repeat the whole route back. I recommend to all more active people. Not suitable for small children. Kourtaliotiko Gorge

A long and pleasant walk along the gorge through breathtaking scenery, past waterfalls, fountains, deserted chapels and monasteries, to an authentic palm beach at Preveli. You can even catch a glimpse of a lammergeier if you are lucky. Watch out though for slips and trips - stout shoes essential.

This is a lovely day out and you can lose yourself in the narrow streets of cobble stone! Narrow streets Lots of shops Many small tavernas Beautiful buildings Lots to do Places to refresh A real lovely part of old Greece and very busy with tourists.
